necessity to update your status in facebook

I don't usually update my facebook status. In fact i don't remember answering the question what are you doing. My status gets automatically updated though, because i'm on twitter as well. I find it convenient that you can update everything from one site than visiting all the sites you signed up on.

I used to update my status all the time as then it saves time telling different people what i had been doing and what i was doing.Now adays i do not bother too much about updating my status as the people who know me should know my routine by now and if not then they do not need to know.

I just update my status as to what my current status is in game that I am in. When there are special days about to come and certain achievements of my kid and relatives. Other than that I don't find it necessary to update your friends that you are currently watching TV or sleeping! That just so senseless.

Im seldom to update my status when it was not too important. Im little agree with you, because I think that specific problems or activity should not be posted in facebook, which many people can read your status.

yeah.. i hate those people who updated their status every seconds and posted just about the silliest and boring things ever, like, "i am eating steak now", or "drinking coffee in starbucks", and thins like that... those are just ridiculous.. no one really cares what you are eating, really!! although its your own right, i reckon people should only update for something special..

thank goodness I have already passed that phase where the need to update everybody on what i'm doing is really strong.. now I just post whenever I feel like it, though I like reading the status of my friends.. I think facebook is really great in keeping you updated on your friends and family's life. Though I agree that posting things like what you said is really over the top.

I only post when I have something important to say or doing something fun. I don't think it's necessary to list every little thing at every moment.

I am a member of facebook but I have to admit to not doing much there other than chatting with family, and playing Bejewelled Blitz. Neither of those activities are really things that require me to update my status, and I would rather people didn't know what I was doing all the time anyway, so I just tend to only update if I have something important to stay. So if I have had a really good or bad day then I will post something, but other than that I tend to stay away from facebook if I am not playing Bejewelled.
