the first thing that you need to know is what will be the purpose of the computer that you've going to buy. Will it be for surfing the net? document purposes (creating/editing documents)? multimedia (graphics/video)? games? if you're going to use it for multimedia purposes, go with Intel (Core 2 Duo, but much better if you'll get the i7) if it'll be for gaming, go with AMD (X4 - quad core). also take into consideration your budget for the desktop PC / laptop that you're going to buy. if it's a laptop, then get the best deal or the one that offers that fastest when it comes to processing power and memory.

Well I would say it depends on what is he going to use that machine for ???? Like if he is into studies and is going to use it for project purpose then he can go for a simple configuration...... Check for these details...... Processor Ram(its capacity - 1 GB should be apt for normal use) Hard Drive(Preferably go in for 160GB or even more - SATA technology) Monitor(LCD would be good - take the size that best suits the purpose) keyboard(simple QWERTY keyboard would be good) Mouse(Optical is the best) Optical Drive(Go in for a DVD drive) These are some of the common things one should look for......higher the configuration the better the performance......if he is into gaming you can add extra cards like a nvidia graphics card..........most of the mother boards have integrated sound card you can put in extra sound card for better output..... VERY IMPORTANT - Check out for the warranty......check if they provide support after sales.....my cousin is using dell and he says that he has the best experience so far.....if you go to their site they also have the option to customize your own PC now that sounds good......I will be buying one for myself soon......you can try that out too.....

Hi, Sent your friend a personal computer for celebrate his graduation. it is a good idea. The preparation before buying a computer? Firstly, you should know what your friend use the computer for. If for playing games, the computer must be updated and powerful and desktop is preferred. If for business use and conveinent carrying, laptop is preferred. Secondly, you should decide which brand or several brands you will choose, as there are so many computer brands in the market. Thirdly, you should make a desicion on price range. Last but not the least, you visit internet to acquire the related information before you buy a computer. Happy mylotting!

First of all, you should take into consideration on where he will use the computer. Then check the computer specifications that will coincide on its use. If it is for gaming, should consider the speed of the computer and the video card used. If for business of just ordinary use, a lower specification will do.

Well, Really and truly, you need to think about what all the computer is going to be used for, and your price range. If your friend is a gamer then most likely you will want to get one with a top of the line graphics card and a fast processor. if he or she isn't then a middle of the line computer will be good enough for just about anything they can throw at it. In the end though it all comes down to price, generally a more expensive computer is going to have better everything. Another thing to consider is laptop Vs. PC. Well, Thats really all i can thing of hope i helped :-D
