You a good friend, I introduced an anti-virus software to you, you can look, I used up to now, I feel very good, I will continue to be used. The software called McAfee VirusScan, which occupied the advantage of fewer computer resources, it watertight rules, the firewall is almost better than the weal, even if the virus does not upgrade, you the set is relatively complex, not suitable for novice use. It is worth mentioning is that the Enterprise Edition is a free upgrade for life, and the current popular version is 8.0 and 8.5

they say that the best antivirus is common sense. but in any case, i really don't recommend AVG or Avast. It's like they're inviting virus/trojans/malware into your computer instead of protecting your computer. This is just my opinion.
I'd recommend Kaspersky, Eset NOD32 and Avira Antivir. They're one of the best antivirus software out there. BitDefender is also good but it's such a resource hog.
Sometimes Kaspersky and Avira offer 3 months or even 6 months of free subscription (usually between september-december).
Malwarebytes is also good.
Always do remember that whenever you download a file, scan (and disinfect) it your antivirus software.

On my desktop PC, I have eset smart security installed. On my notebook I have Avast Anti-virus and Comodo Firewall.
Both of these are free to download and are amazing softwares. I also use an Anti-Malware software called Malewarebytes'. I scan all the drives on my comp using it every 3-4 days.
In the past I have used, AVG, Norton, McAfee. But I like Avast and Comodo the best.

I currently use Avira antivir Personal antivirus. It is best and does not degrade system performance. It uses low system resources and best of all it's free. I was a former AVG user. I like it but it suddenly degraded my system performance that's why I switched to Avira. It works fine with my computer now and keep my computer virus free.

i like Avira but it has some issues with Vista Ultimate 64bit version. I've noticed that it takes too long to load as opposed to having Vista Ultimate 32bit version. I've lost my internet connection after installing it. Since then, I'm using Kaspersky 'coz I'm not sure if the same thing will happen with Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi, I do not use antivirus, as I keep up to date on all the latest threats, viruses, and trojans that come out. I also know how to remove all of them and detect if I have any. However, if I were to use any antivirus, I would probably use Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010.

as regards anivirus when i use windows i tried some and i found that avg,nod32,kaspersky are good choice deal with viruses and be protected in the majority of cases!!Surely to improve your network you should also have firewall,anti-spywire and more softwares deals with security!!In the majority of cass a good firewall and a ood anti-virus working good together can be ok..but other softwares as anti-spywire,malaware and rootkit can be useful too!!
