how do you earn loyalty from a friend?

i know that a friend is someone who you can trust but there are lots of time when your good firnd is your worst enemy. how will you earn loyalty from a friend so that he/she will not betray you in the end?

i think there is no need to proove that you are loyal to your friend ,if you are loyal to your friend you will be proved loyal someday in your life
