it totally depends on the topic and number of people with the same interests I guess. I don't really care how many responses I get though as long as I get one or two good answers. I only joined a few days ago and am already enjoying this site ^_^

Hi prashanthalva, I guess that your topic needs to be interesting to many, coffee and pizza prefernces will draw many responses but you will probably lose the will to live when commenting back. The right friends help a discussion along but it doesn't help at all if they aren't interested in the subject you post on. I think the best way to do it is to comment quickly to your first responder and if you can write something in that comment which interests them further they may come back with another comment, showing that you are interested in your own discussion and maintaining it. Every comment made puts your discussion back to the top of the lists so there is more chance then of more people seeing it. Quality not quantity of responses and comments count more. Go in and look at some other discussions to get an idea of a style that would be comfortable to you.
