Hi myLotters, since my boss is not a member of myLot, I think it 's pretty safe to tell it here. I have an annoying boss. I just realize how annoying he is in person after just these 3 days, my department going out to have vacation together. He just so irritating, wants to show off in front of his colleagues, very cocky, saying some insulting things to another person, overconfident and full of himself. I never met this kind of person. He's got promoted really fast, every once in a year, he's 28/29 right now and already an Assistant Vice President as well as Deputy to my CFO. I admit that he is smart, but you don't have to be such an a$$ to people and should respect his colleagues. Since I'm the youngest on the team, sometimes he treated me as a kid instead of an adult, which really bothers me. Right now, I just act calmly and response positively everything he said, cause well...I have to play the game right? No matter how I loath this person, I must keep professional. So how about you? Did or do you experienced the same thing? How do you handle this kind of person?

you can't do anything because he is your boss. if you work efficiently, the credit goes to him. if you work inefficiently, he fires you. are you getting paid much? if not, try looking for another job right now. if you decide to stay on the job, never defend him or take sympathy on him when he needs one.

I have experenced some of the same things in my life too and I do underestand. You are doing the right thing so far by being professional and keeping your opions to yourelf. that is the way I react to someone like that. at the end of the day you should not let this bother you and not take home any stress. this would be my best advce to you.

First of all, please make sure that your boss is not on mylot :p
Second, from your story, perhaps he acts that way in order to cover his shortcomings? He surely proud of himself being a VP Assistant in such a young age. You do the right thing. Just act normally and professional. You never know when you need him in other time. For me, never experienced a good boss, either. I always try not to get too close to any of them, or to express my personal emotion too much when something good or bad happen to him/her.
Third, if he treated you as a kid, hopefully it's just your feelings, as I don't think it's professional for him to act like that. He should have treated his subordinates equally. In return, again just be professional, and act as his colleague. Hopefully, he will notice that you ain't a kid, but as a brilliant in your team. Who knows that when you reach his age, you will get higher position than what he has now?
Happy mylotting :)
