From my recent experience, there were many insecurities about Windows for me, due the fact that many spyware or virus targeting on computers which running on Windows operating systems. Once, One of computer which running under Windows XP was infected with spyware. Instead of reinstall the Windows XP. I made a decision to installed the open source operating system, Ubuntu, part of Linux distribution. So far, it running so smoothly. I would consider get rid of Windows, and install Linux to my desktop or laptop computer in the future. Would you?

Yes i did it sometimes ago!!such as on my computer there are 2 os 1 windows ,xp, and the pother one is linux now ubuntu in the past mandriva!!In reality as regards security and high custom os or speed linux is much better and smart ..surely sometimes from some kind of operations or softwares it can happens to use windows as well!!I think the only part that can be not so easy in linux is for example the customization of a wi-fi network or lan too or for some ports as well you cna have on your pc or need it...may be from thispoint of view linux and its user interface may be can be cconsidered better but in general not other many thins can be considered better in windows if we compare to the major distributions of linux!!

That's a shame that you have had some bad experiences in terms of using windows but I personally would never change to an alternative operating system! I'm not saying that Umbuntu is bad or anything, I've heard a lot of good reviews relating to that product however, I have never had any problems personally with windows. I was using windows xp home edition and it was fine and now I'm using windows vista premium and it is running smoothly and I have not encountered any problems to date. I guess there's a lot to be said for maintaining your system on a regular basis! I do this on a weekly basis, make sure things are running smoothly and so forth, more like a system diagnostic checkup! There is something good about Umbuntu, I heard that you can run it off a memory stick and that you don't actually need to install it on your hard drive. Andrew

Yes I would, simply because Linux is the better operating system in terms of security and performance. Vista annoys the stuffing out of me because you can't even twiddle your thumbs without it wanting permission. Recently it's been blocking me from moving files from one folder to another, it's stupid!
Linux isn't terribly difficult to master especially with the fact that most moden distributions include some kind of graphical interface. It does take time to master an overal new environment but really, it's not that difficult if you have patience!
Linux is definately the winner in the server and backend market, but yeah Microsoft is the leader in the desktop market.
