How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Hi myLotters! We all know that sleeping is important to keep us energized and going- some of us are heavy sleepers, while others can function normally without any sleep at all. There are some people who can function well with only a few hours of sleep, but no one can function without any sleep at all. All people need to sleep to live. Without sleep one would die. The average hours of sleep that I get every day is 5 hours. That's not really enough for me, but I'm so busy that I just can't sleep longer. I usually make up for my lack of sleep during the weekends.

I'd like to add that it is possible to have no sleep for a few days, but I've read in a psychology book that if you don't sleep for a week, you will become crazy.

I probably get about 8 hours of sleep a night but I have to. I can't go on very little sleep. Sometimes if I don't get enough, I get a headache. =(

I get about 9-10 hours of sleep a day and this is a necessity for me. If I sleep less than that, I'd be totally exhausted by 4 PM.

I get around 6 hours sleep a night due to insomnia. Luckily I seem to function better on less sleep. The only problem I sometimes get is due to some medication that I take. Two of the side effects are tiredness and sleepiness so every so often if my sleep pattern has changed it catches up with me and I can fall asleep in front of the TV at 6pm or I'll go to bed at 8pm on a Saturday.

I usually have a sleep for 8 hours or more.Recently,I get into a habit of staying up late in the evening. I have no idea when I would get up early.But I am sure I sleep for 8 hours at least.To be frank,I like sleeping very much.I often have a nap at noon.

I usually get 7-8 hours to sleep and more in vacation. I will feel tired and can't focus my attention for lack of sleep. So I have to promise I have enough time to rest every day.

i used to sleep 8 hrs daily other wise it is realy difficult for me to do work in office sometimes i sleep late in night and after that next day it start headache and for the whole day it goes for a toss so i need to have a good sleep at night so happy mylotting

I can usually function pretty well even if I do not get any sleep at night. I sometimes suffer from insomnia. So staying awake at night does not bother me. I am a sound sleeper though. I go to sleep and then wake up. In between this time I hardly ever wake up. I sleep about 5-6 hours which is adequate for me.

I like to get seven to eight hours of sleep but I usually only get about five to six. Which does not make me happy at all. If I don't get the amount that I need I'm so tired all day and feel like I'm dragging myself. If I get the amount of sleep I like then I'm quite energenic and alive, able to function and get alot accomplished.

About 6 hours in workday,but in weekend,maybe less than 4hours at night,and more than 4hours in daytime,lol. In workday,I usually watch TV till 10:30pm,and then I am being attracted by the internet till 12:00,and then go to bed.I usually wake up at 5:45am,so I think I sleep only 6hours. But in weekend,I usually watch TV till midnight,I usually go to bed at 3am,and get up at 7am for my breakfast,chat with my partner,and go to bed at 9am! I think I need a normal living,I wanna chance myself.

hi virus, i really love sleeping.. so i make sure that i can sleep the right time.. i do sleep at 9pm and wakes up at 6am.. 9 hours is really enough for me to be avtive the whole day.. janebeth.

i have to say i am a heavy sleepers. i have to sleep 9 hours a day in order to keep energetic in the day time. Maybe my work is too heavy so i need more time sleeping. Without enough sleep, i cannot work well in office, i keep yawning all day long and feeling very tired, the whole working day would become very unproductive /..

eight hours every day i sleep.I often go to bed at 11:00 at night,and get up at 7:00 in the morning.it has been my habit.at night when the time is over 11:00,I will want to sleep,i will can't do anything.

Normally 8-9 hours, but for adult 5-6 hour is enough, but if like me (I got hard to sleep), 1-3 hours is enough but not healthy. Try some work hard, and you fell tired, relax, and sleep well

I get about 5 hours of sleep at night and sometimes less. After about 8 to 10 days and then I will sleep for about 8 hours that night. I don't think it really affects me the first few days but then I do feel tired and start to get sluggish. The doctor says I need a sleeping pill but I am scared I might get addicted to them I have heard of that.

Yes thats true that is very important to us so that we can work the other day, i see to it that I can sleep 5 to 8 hours to get a very relaxing mood and very relax the next day while you are working. Enough sleep is very important. You feel younger and good looking and also your mind are very well functioning and think well also the health also is very good as well.

HI,Virustreme.I am a not a heavy sleeper now,I could easily be waked up by any noise or the night.I am not sure why this happens recently.anyway usually I get 8hours sleep a day which of course furing the nights.if I could not get a good and quality sleep,I will feel exhuasted all day

Hi..I think I sleep about seven or eight hours.It's long hours sleep for adult..ha..ha..because I know that adult need just about five time But,Honestly,I feel tired when I sleep for short time.Yes,the time of sleep will affect during the day.I can't do my work optimally.

I'm averaging 6 to 7 hours of sleep everyday. It is important to sleep this much i think for it is the time your body is repairing. If I get this much, I have a very good aura, and that translates to good performance at work and at home. If not, I feel weak and tired.

I generally get about 5 or 6 hours each night. In college, we did a sleep study of sorts and the way you feel in the morning actually has alot to do with sleep cycles and what sleep cycle you were in when you woke up. I have had several instances where I woke up feeling great, even though it may have been the same amount of sleep as the night before.
