Do you think its was a good choice to axe Rohit Sharma from the team for the Champions Trophy? Does Suresh Raina fit the bill ahead of Rohit Sharma?

Rohit Sharma is a very talented youngster. He was a great value addition to the teamwhen he first burst into the international scene. winning India some crucial matches down under added more feathers to his cap. BUt his performance in the T20 worldcup as well as in west indies was not much to talk about. The team showed a weakness against the short ball and the middle order barring Yuvrajcouldnt do much. The poor show by the middle order made way for Rahul Dravid just like how the poor show by the team in South Africa made way for Saurav Ganguly. and remember Saurav was the top scorer in that comeback series. So you never know what Dravid might notch up in Srilanka or for that matter even in Champions Trophy. As far as axing of Rohit is concerned I think it will only act as a boon for Rohit. He can now go back to the domestic circuit and analyse his lacunae and work on them so that he gets back in the team as a much better player than what he is now.

It is really heartening to see that two extremely promising youngsters are fighting for their place in the Indian Cricket team and players like Rahul Dravid who are not much in the form still make it to the elite probables to play. Why can't both Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina both be selected in the team in place of any player who is not at his best. But comparing Suresh Raina with Rohit Sharma or vice-versa would be preety unfortunate as both are extremely talented and has actually proved it.
