I read in a newpaper that a lady calmly walked into a shopping mall, doused herself with inflamable liquid, and in front of all the shoppers, put a match to herself, and in full burning, she calmly walked out of the mall into the garden. She is now serious with third degree burns, and her husband is shocked. He said she was having pshyciatric problems, but he never dreamed she would take this step. I feel this is the most agonising way to die, when every cell in your body shrivels up with heat. I wonder why people even think of dying this way. Im sure there are many easier ones. God Help her.

You don't hear stories like this that often in the news. That woman is more than mentally ill. Her soul is sick. Something has happened or something she has allowed happened has resulted in her present condition. I believe her husband should had taken heed to the symptoms his wife was having in the first place. Would I be wrong if I say maybe he need help, too. This is a prime example of when we overlook small things that turns into bigger problems (because nothing has been done to help prevent farther damaging effects). We have to become more aware of each others problems and concerns so we can help address them. We must learn to help people who cannot help themselves.

Yes enascent, its heart breaking to know such people are there who are mentally sick. I wouldn't call her soul sick though. A sick soul tries to harm others and takes delight in it. She harmed herself out of some sort of mental problem, which as you so rightly put, could have been addressed if treated in time. Just goes to show that one must not be sooo busy as to turn a blind eye to the problems of our loved ones. Thanks.

A few decades ago buddist monks were doing this as a form of protest. A pretty extreme way of making a political point.
Poor woman. I hope she gets the help she needs.

I know people still do this in despeation to make their point. She has suffered third degree burns, so its very rare to get well. However if she does get well, then she will have to live with being disfigured as well as menally ill. I just hope the Lord does what is best for her. Thanks.

It's really hard to tell what was going through her mind when she decided to walk into a shopping mall full of people and kill herself but setting herself on fire. I'm not sure what goes through anyone's minds whenever they do something that regular, 'normal' people wouldn't even dream of doing. I really think a lot of these people that engage in these types of behavior have a lot of mental health issues that people plainly ignore or they just sweep under the rug whenever they're finally placed on medication and then never continue getting them help so then people are placeld in danger.

Wow. I had not heard this until now. I bet that woman was in excriciating pain after she set herself on fire. I would not want to die in misery. I would choose a more quicker or peaceful way to go.

In any way killing herself or himself can't be supported. This kind of act is the result of frustration. Weak minded persons take such step to finish themselves. However I fill pity for that lady. It's really a tragic incident.

Yes bhanu, suiside is not the way out, and I feel that it takes a lot of guts to commit suiside. Its not easy to inflict pain on yourself. However, life must have been pure hell for her to have taken such a drastic step. God help her. Thanks always.

There must have been something SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH HER, and she needed extreme psychiatric help, if he did not help her to get that help, then he is partly at fault, there is a natural reaction of the body to not want to die, and there is a natural reaction to pain, she should have been in a hospital until she got better. She needs to be in a hospital for a very long time after she recovers, this is just not normal and shows that she is so extremely sick mentally.

Yes, I guess he too is at fault, but I cannot say she was or was not under psychiatric help. For all accounts, she was mentally sick to do such a thing, imagine if little children were around. With third degree burns, its not very possible to recover, and if she does, she will be totally disfigured, over and above being mentally ill. Its not easy to commit suiside, it takes a lot of will power. I just hope things work out in her best interest, by recovering fully or being delivered in the gentle arms of the Lord. Thanks.

well no sane person does that, she must had major issues and to be honest she should be locked up for her own safety imagine if there were children nearby when she did it.
The public need to be protected and so does she, hope she gets the help she obviously needs.

I totally agree with you. With such people around, nobody is safe. For all we know, she could have had nerves and clung to the nearest person. But she calmly walked out. I dont think she will get through, with third degree burns. I hope to God she does not get through in her own interest.
