do u think can team india bank on rahul dravid since he last played an ODI in 2007 & especially when dravid says he has nothing to prove to his critics.i know he is the wall of india but we should not forget that he has scored only 80 runs in his last 9 ODI innings 2 years ago & i dont know what he has done since then to merit selection
he even was not called for fitness test.
according to harbhajan dravid's return will bolster team & dravid's experience is just what the team needed.

Yes India team can trust him. Because the experienced batsman can made tough for sri lankan bowlers especially murali and mendis.

yes the indian team can trust on rahul dravid only in test matches :) not in odi's or 20twenty's. rahul dravid is a class batsman not doubt about that but there's a age factor
in every sport and i think he's not so fit for the 50 or 20 over matches as u need to score quick n u should run quick between the wickets which he is not much capable of. so that's my view that india should trust him on for the test matches and not for the short version of the games.

I don't understand why there is a thought that only youngsters are suitable to play international cricket. Look at the australian side. The average age of the teamis more than any other international team and it always was and yet they ruled the game for more than a decade. I think that puts the issue of young vs old to rest.
Now lets talk about Dravid. Some one says he only scored 80 runs in his last 9 matches.True but he score at and average of 64+ in the 9 matches before that. which goes to prove that 9 matches do not tell you how a player would be playing in the next 9 matches. There is no reason why he should not have a successful series in SriLanka or South Africa. He is a very goodplayer against the short ball and in South Africa India should expect to get a load full of them from every team they face. Dravid can be an asset in such situations.
But I must also put my view that if Dravid does not succeed this timehe should consider retiring from the shorter versions of the game and concentrate more on prolonging his career in the test version.

Defenitely yes , Dravid can be an asset in the conditions of South Africa. What did the youngsters do with the short pitched balls in the West Indies? Suresh Raina , Ravindra Jadeja & Rohit Sharma all failed miserably with the short pitched deliveries.
Dravid is an excellent player of short pitched deliveries as well as swinging balls. There is no other good player as Dravid to try him in these kind of conditions.
I think he surely will succeed in his comeback matches to the Indian team. All the best to him.
