The only things that i take if i stay at a hotel, are the little soaps and shampoos, conditioner, and any other little tolitries that they have in the bath room, they can not re-use them, and they are just going to get thrown out anyway. and one time we were heading home it was our last night in the hotel, and i remembered that we were out of toilet paper, so i took the roll that was their so i would not have to go to the store that night when we got home.

Yes, why waste. Hotels, for hygienic reason, don't recycle those tiny soap, shampoo and conditioner. If you leave them there upon check out the chambermaid will throw them away, anyway. What a waste! Those items that I usually take along with me are soaps (bar or liquid), shampoo, conditioner and box of tissue paper. Good and honest response.

hey there. Those little miniatures are really cute arent they! I too take them home with me as they become quite handy rather than as souvenirs. I take them with me when I travel as they are a handy size.
They are good to take with you on an airplane because if you only have hand lugguage with you all toiletries have to be less than 50ml or something, which they are.
I used to take them home and kepp them as a souvenir but then they just got thrown out in the end so I make use of them now!

Hi pushkin69,
In the beginning, we take those tiny miniatures as souvenirs as some are really cute and beautiful, especially Mickey Mouse Shampoo and Conditioner Set in Disney World Hotel. The pair of Mickey Mouse Bedroom Sandals is every child's desire.Even the key card with the Disney characters is a souvenir for us to take home. No charge as upon check-in they said we can retain them as free souvenir. But later we use them as our daily toiletries. Thank you for your response. Do keep in touch.

I always take the shampoo and the soap because they can't use it again.

Hi,
Upon check out I always take the shampoo, soap and the box of tissue. They are there for our personal use. Once opened, they don't recycle. So why waste. Make use of it.

I never take souvenirs really. I do take the toiletries, but this is more of a money saving/practical thing than anything else. I have never seen them as cute, but to each their own. Happy Mylotting!

Hi, What I mean is to take those tiny shampoo and soap as souvenirs. I do agree with taking those toiletries is more of a money saving. I travel a lot and stay in hotel every month. Over the year I manage to salvage quite a stock of shampoo, soap and boxes of tissue paper. It is a significant money saving. Thank you for your kind response.

Well, those little items are meant for your use. I think is is alright to take with
upon check out. They are cute, too.

,
Taking souvenirs is pefectly alright. However, we must distinguish
between taking things that are allowable and those which are not.
Those which are not, if taken, amounts to theft. My friend who works
at a hotel told me many stories of people stealing fittings from the
room. This includes stealing lampshades, thermos flasks, jars, heating
elements, hair dryers. There were those who even stole the Gideon Bible . Woe betide them it they are caught by the authorities
and handed to the police.
Hahaha, think first before taking..

There is a distinct line between items that are allowable and those that are not. That need not explaining. And taking of toiletries is not a crime. In fact you can ask the Housekeeping for more of those items and they are more than willing to give you extra. How about towels? Taking of towels is definitely not allowed. But most of us one time or another, including me I must admit do fall to this greed, especially those 5-star hotel towels that are so enticing.
