do you add your own touch to recipes?

what about the ones you make for the first time? I do all the time, I like making something my own. sometimes it's just the seasoning or flavor to change the recipe.

Most of the time. Usually its because the food, as I'm making it, seems to be missing something. Sometimes it's a little extra garlic. other times it's a spoonful of honey or cornstarch. Little modifications here and there. Other times I'll take a few recipes and mix them together AND add my own twist, creating something entirely new. I'm really big on experimentation in food, xD The only thing I largely leave alone...is desserts and breads. I learned my lesson with those. I'm comfortable enough that I can eye the measurements with them, but that's largely it. I don't understand them as thoroughly as I do, say, things with ye oldenly versatile white sauces.

I always add my touch to a recipe, and i do not think that i have made anything that tastes the same twice, because i do not measure anything either, i just add what i think that it needs. and i add different things all the time

I usually always add my own touch. Usually the recipes can use a little personal add-ins.

I don't cook, but my husband does. He takes a look at a recipe, the way one would look at a blank outline of a shape, and then fills in the details his own way. The recipe is an outline to him, and he takes it from there adding things, and taking things away as he sees fit. Everything he cooks always turns out perfectly.

I used to not. I used to follow every recipe to the T, and was a huge stickler for measuring. Now I love to experiment and add herbs and spices that are good for my health. I also love to cook while burning incense (my favorite as of late is lavender). Also while experimenting I have discovered my own mixes of spices and herbs to add to certain things. And they become hits with family and friends alike.

hey there. I love to cook and have so many cook books at home I have lost count. When looking at a recipe for the first time I like to see what flavours are used and what combinations go well together. I will often try recipes as they are just to see if the combinations work. However I d also tend to take bits from one recipe and add to another. Sometimes I just kind of take ideas from one and make it up as I go along. My partner is happy enough to be at the other end of my recipe experimentation, althoug sometimes are more succesful than others! If I have guests round for dinner I do tens to stick to things that I have tried and tested be it my own invention or a recipe from a book. Want to make sure they dont come over to a disaster waiting for them!
