Oreo is a smart kitty. How do they know she's smart? Well, she's earned an online high school diploma. Well, she did have some help from her human, after all, kitty paws aren't exactly designed for keyboards, but she still did it.

of course, all this really proves is what a SCAM these online educations are!

I read that article, too. I'm glad to hear that someone had the forethought (and forepaws) to blast these scammers out of the water!
I got so fed up with all these new "schools" popping up that I thought about starting my own school: University of Mental Ward. I just wanted to see how many would ask for additional information. Glad I didn't do it because I'd probably be inundated with questions by all kinds of weirdos! LOL
I wonder if Oreo is going to go on to college now that she has her high school diploma?

Ah, thanks, blackbriar. I had forgotten.
The thing to find out is whether or not these schools are accredited. Some are not scams and are accredited. The online colleges should also be accredited so the credits you earn with them can be transferred to any other college/university, should you wish to continue you education further.

Not all online educations are scams, Elic. I know someone who studied to be a vet tech. online and she's now making excellent money at a local veterinarian's office. She's the one I'm always calling if something is wrong with one of my furbabies. Sad that some people do this crap just to earn a quick buck.

I know there are a lot of legit online classes. What I didn't know was that there are some that are scams. This is the first time I've heard about it. Your right, cheaper to attend online classes than the brick and mortar ones.

I attend a LOT of college classes online. Of course it's through an accredited college that is in my county. I also am going to attempt to take online courses from the college in the next county. I am very careful about where I take classes and what I will spend for them. I found out that the tuition and cost of one class through one of the Universities runs more than $2,500. Oops, that is a bit more than I can afford, even though it is an accredited college.
I am kind of thinking though; I have four very intelligent cats, I wonder how they would like to earn a diploma?

LOL Good one, pola. My dog doesn't bury any bones but he could tell ya that there are xx many balls/chew toys in the yard since he keeps trying to sneek them out whenever he meets us at the door when we get home.

When I was in my younger I got a divinity degree from some stupid site, thinking I could make some extra money marrying people. Then I got to thinking just how sacrilegious that was and how it was cheating couples of a truly holy ceremony. I never used that "degree".
Oreo is really a beautiful cat!

Yeah, that definitely says a lot. What about these on-line ordination places that make people into some kind of minister? Are those scams too? It would have been nice to have a family member or something officiate at Hubby's and my wedding, but how many people take advantage of things like this, so that they may start cults, and other illigitimate "relicious" organizations?

HI Elic:
Yeah that Oreo is one smart kitty and his "human". (G)!!!
Just goes to prove that once again we all must be "careful" as to what
we do and what we pay for via online sites...
How are you??
