When Windows XP came into market people felt that Windows 98 was the best and it took many years for people to change into Windows Xp and when people got used to Windows Xp now they are not liking to swift to Windows Vista. But I do love to explore each OS and I did love Windows Vista as well as Windows Xp also. Presently I am using Windows 7 on my laptop which is having some cool features which both Vista and Xp is not having that is when you are installing any drivers then this OS will sutomatically make compatability accordingly and load. For suppose if you are installing vista display drivers, this os will load according to vista and work. No compatabilty issues and it is fast as well. On desktop, I am using Windows Xp, so, I love any OS which comes to my way, all I look is that my programs, softwares and game are working or not.. if not I will search for the troubleshoots..

XP is definitely faster running than Vista. Vista has so much going on with it to make it look pretty that it really slows it down. Even taking processes off wont make it compariable to XP.

i like more xp too seem more functional and better as system than vista in general!!On xp you don't have also much electronic locks that vista normally have and so it will pose a limit to the user normal features and usage!!

I have Vista on my laptop and have not had a problem. However, I only bought it a few months ago so they probably got the bugs out of Vista by then. Tow of my desk tops run XP and one 2000. I did not upgrade because of the problems I heard of with Vista when it came out.
I a separate discussion that I started on mylot I talk about Microsoft's plan to drop support for XP when they release Windows 7. There I talk about how they won't let you directly upgrade to 7 from XP.

For me I have been running on Vista for over a year and a half now. I like it way better than XP but I guess if you are used to XP you might want to stay with it. The choice is yours but you really need to tweak Vista to your liking. You could download it try it and see where it goes. I am sure you could back to Xp if you really do not like it. Hope this helps and happy mylotting to you.

Vista is real pain in the A. That is most disastrous Operating System Microsoft did. If I were you I will stick to Windows XP because you might end up cursing that thing. I really did tried Vista before for the benefit of the doubt but it just so happen that I didn't like it. First, the only good thing about it is its interface (which eventually makes everything slower), Second, its quite annoying every now and then asking you if you want to run the application or not. Geez, hackers will always find the vulnerabilities for that. And to think that Windows 7 already there, maybe that's the point that they do admit that Vista is a failure.
