Does Debt have a purpose in society?

A new brief of financial consultants contend that debt always does more harm than good? Is saving up and paying cash the best option? Or should we keep using our credit cards?

Well, without debt, most people today probably couldn't afford to buy their own house. However, I do think credit cards are creating a major issue in this society because you're allowing people to buy items even though they probably can't afford them.
