Rafael Concepcion weighed 119.5 lbs versus 115 lbs of Donaire but still Donaire pursued the fight and won the WBA interim super flyweight belt. I watched the fight on free tv and saw that Donaire experienced a hard time with the heavier Concepcion. If they are on the same weight, I think Donaire would have kayoed Concepcion in 3 rounds.

No i don't think so.Conception was not an easy fight for Donaire because he's clever. That time, Donaire is not really a "flash".

Well, that can happen to anyone fighting someone whose above 2 weight classes as you are. He made a clever fight (Donaire), i think. Who would bang with a broken fist? Sometimes you need to adjust to the type of game that you usually do. And that is clever.

Nonito Donaire fought great in this fight. Though he wasn't able to knockout Rafael Concepcion, he impressed a lot of boxing fans with his tactical fighting. He was even compared to the "young Mohammad Ali". He also showed his class. After Concepcion failed to make the weight, Donaire can choose not to fight him anymore, but he showed that he will not back off because he offered this fight to his country and to the late former Philippine President Corazon Aquino. Congratulations Nonito, you made all of us proud once again. Long Live Philippine boxing!

Yes, Nonito Donaire made the Filipino people proud by stepping to the challenge of the overweight Concepcion. I'm not sure if it was Chino Trinidad who compared him to a young Ali but he sure did the best techniques he knew to win the bout. We all know the he broke his hand on the third round that gave him difficulty in knocking out Concepcion.
