I am getting ready to take a small trip to Pennsylvaina the coming Labor day weekend. I will be traveling with my 7 month old daughter. I have looked up different infomation concerning traveling with an infant. I also checked the TSA website which had some useful infomration on it. I plan to take a sroller so that I can attach the carseat and not have to carry a heavy carseat through the airport. I am also going to carry a baby bijorn front carrier with the baby in it during the flight as I did not purchase a seat for her (she is riding as a lap baby). I heard that I could gate check my carseat and stroller and see if the flight is not full if I can just put my carseat in a seat. I am taking a carry on bag (a backpack) with some items for me and baby. I should be ok, and the trip should be a smooth one. I will have one flight change. Has anyone traveled with an infant under 1 before? Real life stories are always more helpful than website Q & A's. Please share your air plane travel stories...

Hello there Addie. I have a toddler son and I traveled by plane with him to Portugal when he was four months old. I took his stroller and I was able to wheel it up as far as the plane. I took two bottles and some formula on the flight. I had my backpack and his holdall put in the checked in luggage for the hold. He sat on my lap and I feed him on take off and landing to help his ears. He is disabled and so he can't walk. Since that trip I have taken him on a flight to Latvia. He got his own seat on our 12 hour flight to South Africa. Good luck flying with your little girl aged 7 months. I now have a 7 week old daughter and so plan to take her traveling as well.

Oh wow, Okay thats great. Yeah, Im looking at a 7 hour flight with 1 plane change and the lay over is not that long. I am hoping that she will sleep at least a couple hours. I suppose my biggest concern is her sitting on my lap, infants want to touch and see everything so this shall be interesting. Well, thanks for your great advice.

Hi Addie, I have bring my daughter to the airplane when she was 23 months old. Hence I think we just have the different situation. Of course 23 months old baby is easy to handle than your small baby. Just wish you have a safe and pleasant flight and journey. Stay calm and things will go smooth!
