do you believe in studying the night before an exam

I've tried it once and it made me forget most of what I had studied the week before. I've since become a firm believer that if you're not prepared for your exam 24 hours before it starts you'll never be prepared for it. I personally prefer to get a good night's sleep and then get up nice and early on the morning.

Yes, I had to.(I didn't like to or felt very motivated to though...) I was not a studying hard person but when exams or tests came, I must study for it no matter how lazy I wanted to be, a night before the exam is important to me, I would study for the night for it, I gave myself enough time to rest though so I could still concentrate to work on my paper in the exams.

NO!!! Never never study b4 the night of an exam. This is also known as cramming. Cramming is known to kill students. I've a friend who have tried this. He said that he managed to cram all the information needed but then in the end, he got nothing but bad results. Therefore, always study and revise after each lecture.

It is just a big challenge.I am really afraid to do that.I did it once during my school's final exam. The next morning I really got nervous as I am not fully prepared. But luck helped at that time and the paper was easy.
That experience helped me a lot.So now I study regularly for some hours daily and I appear all the exams with full preparation.I now really understand my capacity and work according to it.But it is not a hard and fast rule that all should work the same way. Some really effecient people do better in exams studying overnight just before exams.
Also sometimes situations compels to do that. But it is always better to have a good sleep at night and a fresh mind in the morning just before exam.

No. I have tried this before, and it does not work. I ended up failing the test.
I find that studying the week before, getting enough sleep, having a good breakfast is key to doing well on exams.

I prefer to study all the lessons a week before the test and then read it again 1 day before the examination, this will not make me cram of all the notes I have been studied. Studying only at night will cause cramming of the entire lessons, so I need to study it a week after the exam. then sleep early before the exam and wake up early to get ready with the examinations.

I believe in studying until the very last moment! I used this technique to study for my A+ and Network + exams and I passed them successfully. I know that most people aren't that keen when it comes to study but I feel that if you study early enough and keep on studying no matter how good your are at retaining the information then you can only succeed. I think along the lines of, I'm working for this I have to make sure that I pass first time. Once it's over you can finally take a rest before moving on to your next project. On the day before your exam I suppose you can get on with some study but obviously not overdo it. Then, as you say, relax during the evening hours and wake up refreshed, ready to tackle the exam head on! Andrew

I did cramming a night before the exam all the time. It might be working, but not at all gonna get you a good grade on it. So, I firmly believe, otherwise, you have to better prepare before hand, or focus on what you just learned from your classes. You might already prepared for all the examinations.

I actually experienced that because when sometimes you feel very lazy and you are the type of person who always think of the last day preparation before that grand day. I actually have done that and the best thing is to study when no one is around or when all is already sleeping. You have the tendendy to forget all during the exams because you are in a rush and you might have so much thinking not only about the study but other things. But it actually turns out to be effective to me during my college days because I can easily remember all what I have learned a day before the examination. It is not advisable though because what you have been learning is for your own benefit and you might get high marks during the exams, but eventually you can easily forget all the things you have learned in just a day. So I can say that I still love to learn everyday then, make my final day of learning to summarize all. Thank you. Have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Well, I used to study a night before the exam and I think the worst was, an hour before the exam..For me that is the best way to study since I am a forgetful student, lessons which was taken up an hour ago is already a legend to me because I tend to forget them that fast..Although it is cramming, I am still able to answer the exams correctly, really, it also depends on the person, but some of my friends always says that we should study a week before the exam, but I never tried doing it..hehe, Im afraid that my efforts in studying will just be wasted because of my being so forgetful..

I definately believe in this... because that's how i passed all my exams!
They do however say that there are studies that show if you study all night and have a sleep and go to the exam that you forget everything to did before you had your rest. I kept reading these studies and didn't like the concept of them, so i read a few and they all did seem similar and backed up.
I sparked onto something i never found in any of them, that if you do not rest or sleep there was no evidence of losing the information you studied! So I use to stay up all night studying untill my exam than i would go do the exam come home and have my sleep. I may have forgotten all the information from the night before, but i got through my exams with some alright grads!
haha! I don't recommend this to people however but it worked for me!
Good luck mate!

I agree with you. Either I know the material, or I don't. But I usually like to try and go over things one last time right before my exams. It just helps to reinforce the info that I've learned.

For me... the best way to study is to just read your notes and dont memorize it.... read it in your spare time.... or while you are watching tv.... or before going to sleep.... all that you have read will register to your brain and it will make it easy for you to remember it in examination time.... it works for me every time... i am a person who always study... i just do read and read.... by that, i get my reward at the end of the exam....
