A week ago I cut down some poison oak in my back yard. I found out the next day that it was poison oak since I was breaking out all over and my doc. had to give me a shot and tons of meds.
My question, will round up kill the poison oak of will it come back again and again?

Yes round up will kill the poison oak as it is chemical that is systemic (it will be sucked down to the roots) You have to apply it to the leaves of the plant and it may be necessary to do repeated sprayings. People say the best time to do this is during the end of summer/early fall as the plant is pulling nutrients down to it's root system for the comming winter. Round up is supposedly also the best chemical to use for this, that or I think amitrol. Just remember you may have to do repeated sprayings as the roots will continue to try and re grow.
Hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

Thanks for the response. Even though it is over 2 weeks ago that I gotten in contact with the poison oak I still have the marks from it. I will have to be more careful next time.

I've never gotten poison oak. I have had poison ivy many times and poison sumac got me a few times also. I don't think any of them are fun and if I see them I keep away. Also when I lived with my parents, my mother used to clean my laundry in tide laundry soap, I found out this has the same effect on me as poison ivy. It was awufl.
