Do you drive a car, or are you still learning ?

It is ofcourse nice to have a car and drive to places where one needs to go to, work places, shopping, vacations, and so on. I have a nice mid-sized car which I have been driving for some time now, very fuel-efficient and trouble free. I am very happy with it. Are you driving a car ? Or, are you still learning to drive to get the driver's licence ?

I was always afraid to learn to drive, and we lived in the city and i could walk everywhere that i needed to go. If it was too far my husband would drive. We moved here to the country about 7 years ago, and everything is so far away and it is just too far to walk anywhere, and i felt trapped, because i could not go anywhere, i always had to wait for him to take me anywhere. He bought me a car, and i went and got my temporary, he told me to practice driving around the yard when he was not home ( we have a big yard) and when he got home from work he took me out to practice on the roads, it took my about 8 months to get my license. I have been driving now for about 2 years and love it. i can go everywhere now.

I had droved a car almost two years until I moved to the UK. Here the driver sits in the right side and drive in the left side of the road, it’s totally opposite to what I was used to. Also here the speed is faster than I was used too. So here I have not start to drive. Also if I want to drive in the UK I need to take test again. For the time being I decided to take bus when I need to go out by myself. I suppose in a couple of years I maybe take the test and drive my own car.

I have been learning since I was 17, so that is 3 years! The stupid thing is is that I can drive fine, I can do everything but I have never booked a driving test. I recently had my first driving lesson in over a year and was suprised how I could remember everything.

I actually just traded a car in for a used Honda Element over the weekend. My old car was horrible. It made really bad noises and things were going wrong with it all the time.

I've had my license for 16yrs, since I was 17yrs old. I did have to pay my own way for drivers ed, as my mom would not teach me, so as soon as I got a job that's one of the first things I paid for. Plus my mom was sick of driving me to work and to school even though she was unemployed...

Hey greenline! I have never been comfortable behind the wheel of a car! I tried to drive when I was younger, but never could feel safe! And it didn't help that I had a mean miserable driving instructor when I was 16 and got my Learners Permit! I tried on and off throughout the years, but just never felt comfortable so I never ended up getting my licence! So I either have to take the bus, taxi or walk to wherever I need to go! I have alot of stores that are in walking distance, but now that I am having trouble with my knee and ankle it is starting to be more difficult for me to get around!

This is quite funny! I don't drive a car and I have never learned to drive! I really would like to experience this but as always, it's a finance issue! I just don't have the money to learn how to drive although it certainly is one of my goals that I want to achieve eventually. I still have my provisional driver's licence and I've had it for some time now. The funny thing is, it's going to expire soon so I'm going to have to renew it. I like the idea of going out on long country drives! I would find this very relaxing and also a great form of escapism. I'm really looking forward to the day that I get behind the wheel! Andrew

Yes, I'm driving a car and I ahve my own. But I prefer my father or my brother to drive my car instead of me, because I prefer to drive alone. My driving skill is still so-so, but i ahve journey hundred miles away alone. My father force me to take a driving license, and if not because of him, I might not able to drive car until now.

I own a car, and I love to drive. I can not do anything without that baby. She goes everwhere with me. I think that I will keep this baby until I graduate from university.

I am and have been driving a car now for more than 25 years. Ok, well actually I am a stay-at-home mom now so I don't get out much but still have my car when it is needed. Who knows, if I don't go many places I may have to go and take the driving test again just to prove that I can still handle it...lol.....Have a great day!

I was lucky enough to get my license a few years ago! I love the freedom of being able to drive wherever I need to go whenever I need to go there. I am currently driving a mid-sized car as well but used to drive a larger SUV. I definitely like the smaller car better as it has much better fuel efficiency and doesn't seem to have as many mechanical problems as my SUV did. Happy MyLotting!
