what are the best animes in your way..?

I'm not really sure of ratings myself but I think Emily of New Moon was a great anime. It's not in english so you have to read the sub titles but it's no less enjoyable. As for anime movies, I think Nausicaa -Of the Valley of the Wind- was great and also Spirited Away was another anime movie that was fantastic.

I think Gurren Lagann was a good anime, not sure about the official ratings though.

My current favourite anime would be D.Gray-man though I think that is a very popular anime in its own right and the ones mentioned here seem to be less well known ones. On that front my favourite less well known anime is Full Moon wo Sagashite just because I completely adored the story, and both times I have watched it through to the end I have been moved, and it is rare that something can do that to me. The animation isn't first class, but it would get a high rating for me solely because of the amazing story.
