Help! I think I am really inlove now!

I've never been in love so I always love the idea of being in love but now, I am totally confused! I have this friend, a guy, for over 8 years now and what we have are platonic relationship though we are often tease because none of us are attached from then till now. I like the guy, I like him a lot but since he is a friend, I controlled my emotion but there's no helping now. I know, I'm in love with him because I always caught myself looking at him and thinking about him. I even planned our future together but there's no way I can tell him my feelings. What should I do now? Should I avoid him or confess my feelings to him. It is really sad to be a girl in a situation like this. *sigh*

You know, I have been in the same situation before during my college years. I also have guy friend and we are so close and that everyone in the campus thought we have something going on. For four years everyone thought that way. But the truth is, there is nothing. But deep inside yes, I feel something for him.
I never confessed to the guy cause I'm a girl. I don't know if I'd be doing the right thing, confessing to him. I'm a traditional girl who just waits for a guy to court me. But he didn't.
Until now we are friends. We are still both single but I don't think we are meant to be cause he never made any move to court me and that's ok. I just said to myself that maybe we are better off as friends than lovers. The fact that I'm not sure that if ever we try to have a relationship, will it turn out good or bad. And I don't like to risk to destroy our friendship if the relationship won't last forever. I also thinks he feels the same. We are both happy being friends.
But, this is me. If you can confess to him go ahead. Maybe he also feels the same for you. Just be ready for whatever result your confession may lead to.

Hi! Yes I know there are guys who feels shy about confessing their feelings to a girl. But I don't like to risk our friendship. I cherish the friendship we have so maybe I'll just let fate do it's thing for us.
I believe if we are meant to be, we will still end up together no matter how long it will take. If not, I'll wish him the best in life with another.

I'm a guy and yes i fell in love with my girl through a thing called fate i mean it just happened we knew each other for quite sometime and it just fell together and its 2 days till our 11 months of relationship :) and wish you all the luck because i promise you this that fate will always decide who is the right person for you and i hope you find Mr right soon.

...then i don't see any point of holding it back...
unless...
if you don't see he likes you in the same degree
i mean if the attraction he has for you is just pure friendship (it won't take much for us to find out, we girls have good vibes)
then that would do something in the realtionship
but if you feel the attraction is mutual
then just let it be...
at the right time, things will fall in the right place if it's meant to be

Once we start seeing someone as a friend its difficult to convert that relation in to love.If he too has feeling for you then it might work.But if doesnt i guess you will mess up with him by telling your feelings to him.
