Did you watch it just to see Spike and Angel?

I met and talked to so many people that watched this show because of the "hot" vampires. They were okay looking, but I was more interesting in show/plot. I admit I sometimes couldn't wait to see another steamy session with Buffy and Spike. Those moments were intense and short, but I enjoyed it all the same.

I love watching Buffy because it's a fanatastic show. I went out and brought the whole series because I enjoyed it that much. It just draws you in. I enjoy the characters the plot everything. This show just makes you laugh, cry even get a little bit angry. I would recommend this show to anyone that enjoys the supernatural side of life. It's not just about the hot vampires it is so much more.

I agree, there are some funny moments. Like those times when they start singing, I laugh at that every single time.

I watched it for love of all the characters, the sense of humor of the writers and the plots. Buffy is my favorite show.. I own all the seasons, and have watched it several times. While I'll admit that I always thought Angel and Spike were hot (as well as Xander), that wasn't why I watched it. There are a ton of shows on that I think the main actors are good-looking, but if I can't stand the story, I can't stand the show, no matter how hot the actors are.

I know how you feel, I refuse to watch a show if it doesn't have a decent plot.

I watched it for all the same reasons you did. Characters, humor, plot. Also drama, imagination, the relationships and the hot guys. I have to admit that I would watch Nick on anything that he was on, no matter how bad it was. After all, I sat through the psycho beach party movie he was in.
I didn't start watching Buffy until the 6th season when the musical was aired. It was my first time ever of watching it and I fell in love with the show then and there. My son was taping the episode for a friend of his who didn't get UPN and I sat and watched it with him....I think he was in middle school then. Anyway, when Nick came on the screen, I was like, hmmmmm. And while I found him and James to be very good looking (and later on, going back and watching the first eps again)David, I have to say what really caught and held my attention was the imagination of Joss Whedon. Who ever heard of making a musical on a television show? Writing songs about what was happening on it? Or having an episode where no one talked for at least half of it?
I have to admit that if I like an actor enough....like these guys, I will watch them on anything. After all, I sat through that psycho beach party movie to watch Nick. lol. But I never watched it again. With Buffy, I have all the DVD's and I watch them over and over again. I really miss not only this show, but Angel as well. There aren't that many good television shows on anymore.

I watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer because I was interested in the supernatural theme. Spike being so cute (I love him ) is just an extra bonus. I still watch it from time to time because I love the plot

Hey there, troublesome.I'm glad you raised this question. It's true that a lot of people watched Buffy for the wrong reasons (cool guys) as they now watch Twilight for the same reason (though i don't see neither plot nor hot guys in that show, but then again....i must be getting old, lol)
I started watching the show when i was a teenager and i love the story and related to Buffy as a person of the same age, with similar problems (except for the slaying), the highschool life and going behind your parents' back and all that. But after the first few episodes i was simply enchanted by the plot.
And later on, the developement of the characters. I loved the fact that they changed and adapted constantly.
As for Spike...yummy! I adore the character, i think Marsters did an amazing job creating Spike and i think he looked amazing (still does), especially considering he was nearly 40 when he started the part.
