I write music reviews for roughedge.com I've been there about 3 years and its one of the best jobs to write about hard rock and heavy metal. I'm Jeff Rogers on the site. If you've been wanting to write about the music that moves you then my boss R. Scott Bolton is looking for a few good writers who can write excellent reviews about the music of today and yesterday. You don't get paid but he will send you some excellent music to write about and you can use your own library of hard rock too. Check out the website link(under CD, DVD and Other Product Reviews) and see if its something you would like to do, you can e-mail him at the site. If you have any questions let me know.

I hope you don't find me rude but, I'm going to ask anyway, I thought you went to church and stuff. Isn't this type of thing against that?

No, its not a rude question. I do go to church and stuff, like you said. I also write mostly music reviews for Christian hard rock artists, every now and then I'll write a review about a secular artists but only if I really like the band. I can see where my actions might not meet up with my words on this. I know where I stand with God and he knows my heart, I don't write about anything that would compromise my faith. God created all the music in the world but the devil warped it when he takes that talent and uses it for his destruction. Also, if I didn't ever engage things that weren't Christian how would I ever give my testimony? I would be preaching to the choir. It would be against the church if I took my talent and used it only for my gain. I hope that answered your question, if not let me know.

I had went to the site before I asked most of the band names I didn't know but then I saw Twisted Sister and I had heard of them so I figured that I was out of touch with heavy metal. Before, I seen Twisted Sister you could have told me that they were all Christian Metal and I would have believed you LOL I didn't want you to think that I was being judgemental by asking what I did, I just grew up in a family that was very Christian and anything that wasn't "Godly" was devil's work shoot we didn't even listen to the radio in the car because it might have devils stuff. I am the black sheep of the family of course.

I am very sorry to dis-appoint you as I would like to listen and enjoy music, preferably old music and songs and there again if option is made, in my own language, but writing review on music is great responsible job, I have never tried so far. You are great.

MUch as i wanna join u, in that site, but i cant.. Because i'm not good in writing reviews!!! I love music, but yet, heavy metal and rock are not my genre of songs either.. hehe ^_^ I guess it will be fun though, especially for such song lovers, as it's not common everywhere..
If u like music, i guess u should like slicethepie as well ^_^ IT's a music review site, and that u do get paid for reviews.. hehe

Its a great site to write for, I don't get paid per say, not like cash money but I get free music and I get to review up and coming groups or artists.

Sounds like a nice opportunity for those who love that kind of music. I already write reviews for a few different sites. I don't think I can take on any more at this time. But it does sound like a nice thing to do. . I hope you find some interested and talented people.1 person likes this

I haven't tried writing reviews but I will check out the said site because I would like to find out about upcoming artists and I also want to hear news about new launches from my favorite and other artists. Maybe I would find out there if Arch Enemy will really come here in the Philippines. Shadows Fall had been here last summer, also Sepultura, Darkest Hour and there were some indie artists too. I would love to read your reviews too. I only heard a few Christian rock bands and I don't even know their names (just heard them from the local radio and I wasn't able to caught the artists' info the dj told).
So basically, I just wanted to say hi. I hadn't been here for a very long time and now that I'm back I decided to greet my friends first.^_^

I wrote one for Shawdows Fall and Sepultura and I think Darkest Hour, cool bands. Check out the site and see if R. Scott Bolton likes your writing style. Love to have some more reviewers to the site.

Alright, I will check it out. I have already written many album reviews and I have a massive library of music in my head, I'll check it out.
