I know it seems early (or late to some) but I'm curious to know how many people have started and perhaps even finished holiday shopping. I started picking up stocking stuffers last month. I really haven't got any big presents bought yet but I'm pretty much done with the stuffers. I sell Avon (as I recently mentioned) so I've been buying Hannah Montana shampoo, lotion, etc. out of the outlet book. I've also bought some lipgloss & stuff too. My girls are 10 and 5. I wish I had more presents bought but I'm trying. My family is on a very tight budget right now and if I don't try to squeeze in some spending now, Christmas might be pretty sad this year. Has anyone else started shopping? Are any of you almost done? Where do you hide your loot? Mine is in a box at the top of my closet, where my girls would never look, let alone reach.

Lawaway, I always forget about layaway. I know Kmart offers it and you said some games stores do. Are you talking online? What a great idea.

Thank you! My nephew has a wii system, will have to let my sister know that they have layaway. She tries to get her shopping done early too. Thanks again for the ideas!

Hi Waters, It is quite early to shop for Christmas... Any how, In my country, not all the people here celebrate Christmas. And of course it is not wrong to shop for year end sales. And there is still some people around that will shop for their holiday shopping. I am not Christian, hence I never prepare any presents for my family. But once in a while, we will have to attend friends Christmas party and there I have to buy present for exchange presents.
I hope you can get something for your kids soon! And Merry Christmas in advance!

Nope. I haven't started my holiday shopping yet and I don't think I will be able to start anytime soon. I am still working on my blogs and at the same time looking for a "real" job. I am on a super tight budget right now too. I don't hide my gifts though, I immediately place them under the tree when I get home from buying them. I just have them gift-wrapped in the mall. I think almost all families are on a tight budget these days. I hope holidays would be fun and joyous than what we're expecting.

We're on a super tight budget right now too. That's why all I've bought so far are stocking stuffers. I spend about 3 -5 dollars every 2 weeks. At that rate, I'm almost done with the stockings. Next I'll concentrate on $10 a month or so on some other presents. I hope the holidays are fun and joyous for us all too!

I have not started any shopping yet, but I will most likely start in October or November when the sales start coming out.

Yea, that's when I plan to finish up. Buy a few here and there and then buy the last stuff when the sales are big.

My daughter inlaw has already started spending some cash on the kid's. Not much but she said she wanted to make sure they had something this year for Christmas. So after Christmas this past year they had a big sale in Jan, and she bought about 3 item's for each of them and put it away. It was 75% off when she bought it. In June she had bought them each another couple of thing's, she put's it all up in the attic. The kids don't go up there.

See, that's what I'm talking about. I want to make sure my girls have something for Christmas, not expensive, just a good Christmas memory. My girls don't go into my closet so I'm pretty safe for at least another year....

I have no really got any little kids to buy for, but my adult clients would like some of the Hannah Montana stuff. My clients work in a clay room, producing decorative plaques and I have custom ordered some. When the plaques sell the clients get all the profits from the ones that they make, and I will give some as gifts this year. They come with a card that tells about the person that created them. Other stuff, no, I am not too sure about. I always get clothes for people and that will continue. I am going to redeem some MyPoints for gift cards to send as well.

Oh, I love the MyPoints thing! My husband & I were just talking about getting some gift cards with my points for different restaurants for our parents. There is just a point where you have to try to come up with something new to buy for the parents and they pretty much have everything. I've been trying to get mypoints built up for that same thing.

Time flys by dosnt it and soon it will be christmas before we know it. I wont be thinking about my christmas shopping untill november or after thanksgiving. Which luckly I have amazon prime so I can buy all of my stuff online and the shipping will be free plus I can get 2 day shipping so I dont have to go shopping during christmas time this year. Its just way to soon to even be thinking about christmas dont know why people would this time of year.

Yes, I already bought some gifts. What I am doing is to buy in sale or discount store so I can have a good bargain.
Most of the gifts that I bought were all made possible for visiting this site for gift ideas htt://www.gifti.us

I brought one thing so far for my granddaughter. This year I think only my granddaughter is getting gifts because things are hard when you don't have a job.
So this year it will be more about food and family which is the way it should be.

Food, family and football! I agree. Things are really tough for us too. That is why I started early. I have a 10 and 5 year old so I want their Christmas to still be special, you're only that age once. The rest of my family probably won't get much if anything. I love watching the girls play on Christmas morning and then all sitting around eating and laughing. The good thing about kids their age is that you don't have to buy them the expensive stuff. They don't care if it's a coloring book from the dollar store, know what I mean? In fact, they are still into decorating the boxes!
