Today all day, I had to wait at the doctors office, wait at the therapist's office, wait in line at McDonalds, wait to get AND pay for gas, wait at a traffic light, wait at the store, wait wait and wait. Then of course, we have to wait for our mail, wait for the coffee pot to finish, wait, wait, and more waiting.., oh, wait a minute.......got to wait at the Bank, wait in line to ride on a ride, have to wait for our supper.....wait, wait, wait.....
Then they wonder why we are so frustrated and impatient.....right...
wait, wait, wait..

A long time ago I decided I was going to put wait time to good use. In the doctor's office or dentist, I'm delighted to wait because I can read all those trashy magazines like People or get educated with Newsweek or other mags I can't afford! I do most of my banking online so I don't wait but at the store I'll talk to people in line, start out with a compliment then get in a conversation. I count cars at traffic lights or look at the clothes the pedestrians are wearing--in short, waiting time is vacation time! It's relaxing for me, time to be social or catch up on my reading or people watching.
Just change your attitude. It's hard to do at first but you'll soon find yourself not minding the wait. It's inevitable, so put it to good use!

When I would take my sons to the doctors or if they had to go with me, we'd play baseball in the exam room while we were waiting, using tongue depressors and paper from my purse that we'd scrunch up. We'd spin around on the stool, play with the BP cuff, etc. They still talk about what fun going to the doctor was--especially when it wasn't them that was sick!
Thanks for bringing back that fun memory!

i know waiting is inevitable, we all have to do it and today at the doctors office, I read some of Psalms, then at the therapist I texted my mother. I also try to get my son to play I see this (a color of car or an animal or whatever) especially on long trips. now with days where my son drives me insane---i take advantage of the wait to enjoy time (peace) time......:))

True, we might have to wait for many many things in our lives. But, I think that maybe some people (especially Americans) have taken many things for granted.

I think this video shows so well how things are today.
I just think that sometimes the wait isn't as bad as we think it is. Patience is a virtue.

Yes, us Americans don't sit and think about things much anymore. i remember back in high school, i would actually take time in the park and enjoy the flowers, the sky, the views, today its like i go and look at the time, tell my son its time to go to do something else that needed to be done for the day. We have to rush to the store, rush to get the mail, rush rush.......I feel I am missing out on just letting my son be a little boy and let him enjoy catching butterflies and looking at the stars....

I just deal with it and wait for the next action planned and go home not realizing really everything that had went on. I was just thinking about this waiting at my son's appointments. just wondered how many deal with it everyday; which i am sure all of us do...
