How do you get responses?

When you start discussions you are supposed to get responses. Well on some of my discussions I don't get responses. How do I get more people to respond? I try to add more friends but it seems like it does not work.

when i start a discussion i hope to get many responses but it depends in some cases i had it and in some cases only few ons so i think it depends from topic and even in what way you pose your answer to the community!!
I guess that if you have a bit more friends you have a double opportunity to have more responses but it is not sure you will have it at the end of all..so i think just try and see how much responses you will gain..in this discussion i guess you gained 2-3 already...

Try to think of a topic that most people can relate to or think about, as this will interest them in the discussion. Add more details to your discussions, as readers will find it more intriguing and interesting.
