If there's one thing I know, we are all capable in giving advises in many ways and in many aspects. If there's second thing is that age doesn't necessitate wisdom. From my experiences traveling to different countries, I've met some very wise children and some very uninspired adult.
Wise or not, parents are usually a well of advice that never seems to run dry. Some advice is sound. Some is not. I'd like to hear your best or favorite piece of advice. What have your parents taught, told, or demonstrated to you. Let's go ahead and share that wisdom with others.

Hi Jfc, and welcome to MyLot. I learned so much from my parents, and still learn much from my 86 year old mom. I was taught honesty, good hygiene, the importance of family, of education, and of being responsible. Both were wise and loving and set a fine example for the 8 of us!

MY parents use to tell me when I was young to do well with my studies. Having been raised in a NOT so well-to-do family, they believe that education would be the BEST inheritance I could receive from them. They say they would soon grow old and that they, in time would have to leave us. It paid well listening to them. I graduated with flying colors and I was able to get a decent job. I could not imagine how my life could have been, if I was not able to graduate. Indeed, education is the best inheritance.
And one thing I could remember, they trained us to always save for the rainy days. In my own little ways, I learned to live a frugal life. But once in awhile, I treat myself with little "luxuries" I can afford just to compensate myself for the hard toil I made for the day.
When you are face to face with the difficult situations (that your parents made you ready for), that's when you appreciate how your parents tried their best to teach you be strong and independent (to the point that they sometimes overdid it). Nonetheless, I was thankful I had my parents with me when I just starting to live a life and that they are still with me up to now. It was indeed a blessing! =)
