Do you Do it Yourself - or have someone else do it for you?

Get your mind out of the gutter now. I am talking about home repair or other building something.
At my house we are do-it-yourselfers. It saves money to do repairs or make something yourself. You also get a sense of pride and satisfaction knowing it was something you did with your own two hands.

If it electrical or plumbing. My husband does it. Otherwise, we call someone else to do it.

My husband tries to fix it first and if he cannot do it, we call in a professional.

Depending on what the situation is that I am working on. Electrical no, I would call someone that knows what they are doing. Plumbing, that's what my husband is for; he is a plumber. I love power tools, so bring it on.

If I know how to fix something I will, otherwise I call up friends and family and see if they can. Most of the time I figure it out on my own. I am glad, it gives me something new to do, and I like working on stuff. Saves us lots of money too.

There is much satisfaction in knowing that you could fix it by yourself.

My husband can do many repairs, but some he can't. So he does many of them, but we have to hire out also. I have no eye-to-hand coordination, so finished work looks like a disaster and I can't take pride in my disasters. I envy you, I would like to be able to do all kinds of things.
