This is just a bit of fun for everyone. To me number one is Shell, "Go well, go Shell." This logo and slogan has been well known throughout the world for generations.
Second, in my opinion is The Nike logo, and their slogan, "Just Do It" It is also well known, world wide.
Choosing a third one is a little difficult, as the more you think, the more that come to mind. However, I've decided on Colonel Saunders, who stands outside every KFC store, and reminds you, "I's finger lickin' good."
OK myLotters it's your turn. What do you think are the top three?

I would go for the Olympic logo as the number one because it's international. The second would be the swastika of the Nazi. Did it originally come from India by the way? I have watched a documentary that it was originally an Indian thing, I just forgot where and when did i see it. My third would be Walt Disney logo, the castle thing. Those were my top there.. Thanks.

A very interesting list underdogy. Although it can be traced to some early Indian Buddhism pieces, it is thought its origin goes way beyond that, to 2003 - 2006 B.C. However the exact origin is still debated, so unknown. Back to the discussion, I agree with the Olympic logo, but I think more people would recognize Noke and Coke before Disney. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the info bout the swastika. I'm sure that we didn't grow up on the same place coz i haven't heard of Noke...really!!What is Noke anyway? That's why I would still go for the Disney logo, I grew up with that lol.

Surely you've seen the Colonel, dressed in white, outside all the KFC stores, or seen the shell on every Shell auto station. These are a way of life, I don't see how you could miss them, ivan. You must be able to turn yourself off. Wish I could. Thanks for sharing.

I do agree with you on the Nike Logo.. everybody knows that one..
But I think the two other known logos are Microsoft and Coca cola... at least in all the 53 countries that I've traveled to, they have that!

Hi jellymonty, we've been to about the same number of countries, but the majority of mine were in the sixties, so Microsoft was not around then, and neither was Nike, for that matter. A good trifecta, none the lass, and thanks for sharing.

I agree with tham all bar Walmart. Walmart could well be in the top in the US, but world wide, many wouldn't know it. Thanks for your response.

To me, the three most recognizable logos is the golden arch from McDonalds, The triple As from the insurance company and the big S from Stanford. That's a lot of logos out there that many people recognize but on the top of my head, I could think of these three.

Hi LISA, maybe I should have stated company logo, and that would have eliminated the cross, and swastika symbols. This was meant to be a bit of fun. Thanks for your contribution.

i think the three most recognizable logos in the world include the image logo of Jesus Christ, the coca cola logo as well as the united states flag logo, the logo of Jesus is loved by christians all over the world and it remains the most popular, everyone also like to drink coca cola and the logo remains one of the most noticeable and then the united state flag is also popular as well

Hey tundeemma, I don't consider the crucifix as a logo when I started this discussion, but in fact it is, so it woulf have to be right up with the most recogniazble ones. Unfortunately, I think more Americans would recognize the Golden Arches of McDonalds than their national flag. Thanks for a very thouhjtful response.

I think the top should be Coca Cola. Everywhere we go, we see cola cola. All restaurants and fast foods offers coca cola. Another logo that is famous is Marlboro because more and more people are smoking and you can actually see this brand or product in Kiosk, supermarket etc. Finally, Mcdonalds Logo is also famous because they cater all over the world. Happy Mylotting. Have a nice day. keep posting.

#1 is Coca-Cola: Whether you remember the olden days of "Have a Coke and a smile" or the new "Open Happiness" campaign, even if it's written in Chinese, Ethopia, or French, everyone the world over knows Coca-Cola and their classic red & white logo. Drink up & enjoy!
#2 is McDonald's: Who wouldn't know the golden arches? Whether it's driving on a snowmobile in Sweden, the drive-thru here in the US, or on a crowded street in Chinda, there are McDonald's the world over and all of them have the traditional golden arches in some way, shape or form.
#3 is Apple/Macintosh: Yes, Microsoft is huge and a lot of people know the Windows logo symbol, but guess who came before them...Apple! Now, I'll be honest, I have a PC because I like Windows better. However, for many people in other nations, especially Europe, and for any artists, musicians, etc. no computer works better than an Apple/Macintosh. The apple with a single bite used to be all over US schools too when I was younger, so give some credit where credit is due, Apple is very well known.

Thank you care4pets, I agree with your choices. I called Shell in my initial list, but have to admit, it's probably not there. I have seen the Coca Cola logo in so many different countries, and it can only stand for one thing, no matter what language it's written in. The same could be said for Maccas. The golden arches can only mean, a big mac is not far away. Finally, I agree the Mac Apple, even without words, would be recognized by more people than Microsoft, or Windows logos. However, in my humble opinion, I think Nike would be if front of the apple with the bite. Thank you for sharing.

Well i think it's the olympic logo for the simple fact that it's international by nature. My second would be hmm... Superman's logo! I think it's highly recognized around the world too old and young. Third would be, The Parental Advisory logo. I don't know, i just feel it's famous for a fact that there are people who change the words into something funnier.

It is a bit difficult to just list 3 recognizable logos without consideration for the various categories. For me, the top 3 recognizable logos would be the Coca Cola script, the McDonald's twin arches and the Nike check mark.

I only asked for logos, but added the slogans for fun, and to emphasize how well known they, and their products are.
You're right, I missed Coca Cola, and all I drink now is Zero. Just goes to show how many there are. Walmart is probably one of the biggest in the USA, but world wide, there are others I think are better known. Thanks for responding, dust.

Well, let me think of it.. First, Coca-Cola logo (I don't know its slogan), but I think everybody can recognize it! Seconds is yellow Mc Donald logo and it's slogan "I'm lovin' it" and the third is Windows logo in microsoft (a window divided by four and each with different color).. Come to think of it, we can state many logos, almost all fast food logos are famous and so sport brand logos..

The top 3 logos are pretty difficult. But I have got to say,
1. McDonalds
Everyone has at least once ate there, knows about it, has a favorite food there, etc. Everywhere I go, like on my drive to San Diego today, I counted about 10 McDonalds on my way, and I live in San Jose. There is more McDonalds probably but I have only noticed a few. But McDonalds is the most well known and most popular fast food restaurant in the nation. A fact is that there is more Mcdonalds than Taco Bell, KFC, Wendys, and I believe Jack In the Box combined. That is why I chose Mcdonalds as my number 1 logo.
2. This one was a tough disicion, but I chose the Nike symbol. Just Do It. I probably picked this logo because I have a lot of sport shirts with a lot of nike symbols on it. I see it almost wherever I go. Wherever it could be, on shirts, on shoes, on headbands, jerseys, basketballs, etc. I'm a big sports fan so seeing Nike isn't such a common thing anymore because I don't realize it but now, since this topic has actually reminded me of logos, I now think of how much I see it every day. This is probably why I picked Nike as number 2.
3. This choice was a very difficult dilema, but I think I would choose Coke over Walmart. I've been to too many convience stores, and parties and what not to not see Coke. I see Coke almost every day! I drink it, my family drinks it, friends, relatives, strangers, etc. I see the big Coke trucks driving around the freeway, etc. It is relatively popular to a lot of people. It is arguably the most popular soda in the business and I chose that as my number 3.
I hope this answers your question. Others may have different opinions than me, but these 3 logos are my top 3. Very interesting question, and I wish you a good day!

Thanks for a very detailed response. Maccas would have to be right up there, as would coke and Nike. However, I think one like Shell is something that we just take for granted. Walmart in the U.S,but you could say the dame for Tesco in England, or Carefoures in France who are 2 and 3 behind Walmart in superstores. Just curious what's the origin of your user name?

My Three most recognizable logos, would have to be:
Coca Cola, Mcdonalds and Windows!
I serve coke in Mcdonalds, and I spend time when I'm not working on a computer running windows!
So I'm around them all day.
