I really don't have any advice. My dogs do it too and I think it is cute, lol. They don't do it very often though so that is why it doesn't annoy me. Maybe you could give your dog a toy to play with to keep him occupied? Good luck. :)

yes he has a toy which he is somepltely obsessed about.
He also gets taken down to the beach where he runs a muck and is a funny dog running after everything... he goes for his run/walk each day, but i still don't know. He gets attention, the only thing i can think of is he may miss the extra company that may had been around the house before, he use to have a house full of over 5 people living there, now there is only 1.
Could this be a reason maybe that he has began doing this?

This is natural for all dogs, chasing their tails. But some poor dogs are freightened by their tails so that the owners have to cut their tails. And I have seen some dogs which are used for hunting purposes losing their tails.Anyhow,we can't help dogs to stop chasing their dogs.If you are seriously worried, cut it.Cheers!

Dogs have this special habit of wagging tails its a symbol of the love they show to their masters and other people they see whom they have seen earlier.Dogs do run after their tails, while its goes round and round ,on after catching it and it bites the tail which, after it takes the pain and after some more time the dog continues the same.Never punish a dog for this because in most oft the dogs who are caged and have nothing else to do show this behavior. They would stop this habit very soon, after it develops it.

Hi,
It's true, it could be that your dog does this because he is bored, so maybe it could help if you could give him some toys he like or give him things to keep him occupied.
It could also be lot's of other reasons why he does this.
Does he do it realle all the time, when he's doing it can you snap him out of it or is he really only focused on the tail chasing, how old is he, what kind of breed is it, has he got toys, has he done this all his life or has it just recently begun,...
