Cheating...Is it right, or is it wrong?

Now in some video games you can cheat to gain a big advantage. Most any game ranging from console to PC you can manipulate to your own will. Like I said MOST. Some now won't let you cheat at all. You own the game though, right? You should be able to do whatever you want with it, of course not break the law... But cheat if you want. Games like GTA: San Andreas, you can easily cheat and win, or just have fun. Or like Warcraft 3 on the PC, you can also cheat in to gain a big advantage, and win. Also a game you can't cheat in: Online games, that require the community not to be manipulated, and players are specifically told not to have an advantage...So of course it all can be fair. Ex: Runescape. With all of these listed I would like you to answer, should it be fair to cheat? Is it right, or wrong? I personally believe that cheating is wrong, and that you should enjoy playing the game, not cheat in it.

I think that when it games to cheats in video games, there isn't a "right" or "wrong". I think that it only becomes "wrong" when you start claiming that you achieved something ultra hard in a game and used a cheat to do so.
I use in-game cheats sometimes. Typically, I use them in my second play-through of the game. Since I've already played through it once "legitimately", I might as well have some fun the second time around. Sometimes I would use cheats the first time around, but only because I think the game is too frustrating, incredibly hard, and/or would just take way too long without it.
I also use guides from time to time, which I guess also counts as a "cheat" to some people since you're suppose to be able to figure what to do, where to go, how to beat the boss, etc. on your own.

I agree completely, the second time around is completely different. Cheating then doesn't matter cause you didn't do it the first time, you enjoyed the game for what it is. Guides though I think are only there for stupid parts in the game, that are just to ridiculous to find out for yourself anyway. ^_^

I'm not sure what the advantage to cheating at video games is. It is certainly not challenging. So can you tell me what the advantage to cheating is other than winning the game? You might as well just let the computer play the game and go watch some television.

Some games never end, so, cheating them is not a bad idea. In this way one can save their time. GTA vice city is one game where I could not finish some tasks even though I used the cheats. Some tasks were really tough to finish..

What I feel if you did something wrong, it is human nature to justify what you did. If you have that affair, will you be able to live with yourself. You will find excuses for what you are doing. It won't even really matter what the excuses are. The fact is that you can hurt yourself and your partner if you are not honest about your feelings. Will this be justifications that will end up destroying your relationship whether it is in video game or any other things..

If you want to cheat for fun or for some practice well okay but if you want to cheat to win the game then what's the point in playing it. If you win the game without cheating you are going to be much more satisfied than with cheats, trust me.

When I was a kid, I cheated in video games at times. Nowadays I prefer playing the games on my own as it is more challenging. In this way, I would be able to get what I paid for and I love the feeling of accomplishment I get after completing a hard part.
