I love to sew! I especially like to make these cute little "luvi blankets" (that is what I call them. They are made from TY pluffies and minky fabric. Does anyone else like to sew? What kinds of things do you sew?

yes, i like sewing, its one of the things that i like to do when i have nothing else to do here. i've been into sewing ever since i had learned to do it, that was in ym sixth grade.
when i was in high school i started sewing bags, and wallets, it had become a trend here, the cloth wallets, so i made one for my friends. my aunt by that time taught me how to sew shorts and pants, she taught me how to cut it right, and up till now i still follow her instructions on sewing shorts and long pants.
when i got into college i was into cross stitching, i got so many finished designs here, some of them i gave away as gifts, others i have them framed and hanged on my wall.
when i had my own family, i was the one who made my daughter's skirt uniform in school, i tried the blouse but it was not good enough, even if i was able to do it.
right now im trying to learn how to sew a quilt... but because of now time for sewing i have not finished what i had started. but once i get the time i need for it, ill continue to do it.

Wow! You are a amazing! I wish I had your talent. I'm not that good. But I do enjoy what little I can do! That is really nice that you are so diverse in what you can do. That is a great talent to have. THat way you can sew whatever you want and need. That is wonderful! Where do you get most of your patterns? Or do you make them yourself?

Im new to sewing and I think its fun but you know I grew up around it I guess so it was something bound to happen. MY grandmother was very old school and made her own items sewing and I remember even my dad taking our clothes and sewing parts back together, lol. We did the sewing crafts growing up and some looming, stuff like that. Right now Im really into victorian petticoats and dresses and would just LOVE to recreate that look, love the lace and just would have a ball with that so thats my project, only thing is that I do not have a sewing machine yet and have like 50 dollars set aside waiting for affordable priced Singer since thats what others have recommended to me (its Singer, right). I don't know if they offer classes teaching how to actually use a sewing machine but that would really be useful right now, lol. Using a needle and thread by hand I have no problem but that could take a while for an outfit. I really admire when women used to sew their own outfits so I really admire Victorian era all the way up to 50s vintage look.
