Not only is she an incredible songwriter, singer and musician, Alicia Keys is a wonderful philanthropist and a heroine of mine. She has an incredible charity called Keep A Child Alive that delivers anti-retroviral drugs to children in Africa and their families, and not only that but she actually makes the trip*herself* on a regular basis and hand-delivers medicine, plays with the children, and learns about the problems on the continent by viewing them firsthand. I absolutely fell in love with her and her cause when she played "Superwoman" at the CNN Heroes event this past November. I encourage you all to check out her charity at keepachildalive.org and to text ALIVE to 90999 to donate $5 (USD).:)

I agree with what you wrote she is definetly a very well educated woman who is very successful but yet has not allowed for greed to get in the way of helping those who are in need she is a great role model for any little child growing up she is very talented, well spirited, and an admirable woman. She is one of the people that I have always looked up to for what she has accomplished and what she continues to do positively.

I'm updating this because Keep A Child Alive just launched an incredible PR campaign with a bunch of popular celebrities--it's called "I Am African."
It is absolutely amazing and you will be singing the song all week! Check it out here:
