Do you believe that Jesus death is enough to forgive us from our sins?

In the Old Law, people were sacrificing for God, doing various rituals and sacrifices to please God and to receive forgiveness from their sins. They tried to reach Him through their sacrifices. They thought that God was like a distant judge who punished people from their mistakes. However, in the New Testament, God came down from heaven (by the Person of Jesus)to reach out man. It is He who took the initiative to establish a new covenant with man. He revealed His true identity through Christ. He died on the cross to redeem man's fallen nature. He rose again from the dead as a sign of His triumph over sin and its penalty-- death. Therefore anyone who believes in Him and accepts Him in his life will not die but have everlasting life. Now, the bible says "Christ died once and for all" and "He is the same yesterday, today and forever." Do you believe His death is enough to forgive us from our sins?

The sacrifices were in the Old Testament.God changed His ways and sent His son Jesus Christ. When that happened most of the rules God had put out before had changed.I do think Him dying is enough to forgive us from our sins because God said so in His word.

Yeah,I think those people either don't believe His word or don't understand it the same way that I do or they just want to double be sure they are forgiven by Him.They are not secure enough in their faith.

Just remember God sent His only child to be sacrificed for all our sins, His blood cleanses our sins and all we need to do is follow the path God wants us to and to believe in Jesus Christ, because who so ever believes in Christ believes in Our Father in Heaven.

syankee525, you are somewhat right...it's not just that we're sorry for hurting people (though that is important too), but that we realize that we have committed a terrible sin against God, and must repent of it.

Actually, people who already believed and surrendered themselves to Christ were already redeemed by Him. Jesus already paid the penalty of sins of those who believe in Him as what I'm trying to say. He already redeemed us from sins when he said "It is finished!" The plan of salvation and redemption was finished. All we have to do is to believe and surrender ourselves to Him. Then Jesus will come into our life and change us according to His will. Truly, it was a selfless sacrifice, and He is waiting for our response to His call.

levite, I believe that what Christ did on the Cross IS enough to cover our sins, so we are not under the wrath of God. Once God opens our hearts to the truth, we believe, and are therefore saved.
