what is win32 heur and how to remove or fix PC

i was so shocked to see so many error prompts and strange activities on PC. when i ran AVG it detected Win32 Heur and Win32.Tanatos.M what is it? can anyone please please tell me what to do. and if you experience the same i hope you get to give me advice what to do about this.i dont like to browse as there are too many unreliable links that would only ask me to buy their products.
this all started when my son did something(which i dont what) ..he downloaded some software or program or "what-on-earth" it was..that was when my PC started acting strange. checking Contol Panel dont show any new programs added. from the d drive there were some new ones i noticed which i deleted, but still got error prompts. and my screen freezes into pitch black screen too while on screensaver/ YMessenger. is that related to the problem? C and D drives seem to be affected.
is my flashdrive also affected if these are virus? has anyone had the same experience? please let me how you were able to fix it.

I would just use AVG and select it to delete the infected files wherever they are. Then, run a scan on your whole computer, including the flash drive to see if any other viruses or trojans are on them.
