Hi!
If I'm sitting in front of my home PC for pretty long time, I take a break in between and go to rinse my eyes. I have anti glare screen fixed in my home PC. When I feel that enough is enough, I stop working on computer. I feel that constant working on computer do affect our eyes and we should not work for longer hours.

For the sake of your eyes, you can set aside your laziness for few minutes and can go and wash your eyes.

well first of all you should not stare directly to computer screen for long. You should keep changing your face direction regularly whenever you are in front of your pc. Even if you have to sit for a short while you should not look directly to your pc for a long time. After you are over with your work wash your eyes. That's the best you can do. Try looking to your keyboard or side ways often when working.

I tend to be on the computer for long hours at a time. Usually not 10 hours straight, but maybe a total of 10 hours.
If my eyes start to get tired I try to take a 10-15 minute break. If my eyes really start to burn or have trouble focusing after being on the computer for a while I might go run some errands or do whatever I have to do for the day.
In any case, it's always good to take regular breaks from the computer to make sure your eyes don't get too strained from constantly using it. :D

You can opt for a special film to be attached to the monitor so that it reduces the harmfull lights. The best way is to guve very small and relaxing excercises to the eys, like looking away from the monitor every 20 minutes, blinking the eye 10 times, splashing water every 5 hours. I read that when you stare at the scree for long hours with rare blinking, the water in the eye dries up...which is a bad thing. Even I wasnt an addict to this system but the pain started when I got hooked to games and now though i reduced the time I spend on games, but it has increased with mylot. Even I feel tired after using 4hrs daily.

Better still, you can close eyes for some seconds and give them a few seconds or a minute's rest. You can even use refreshing eye drops but make sure you get it prescribed by a doctor and know the frequency of using it. It is nt harmfull or is it having any side effects still it is always better to consult a doctor.

After a while of being on the computer, I just tend to decrease the brightness of the screen. So, I'm not hurting my eyes with this bright screen. If my eyes are really tired, then that's my indication that it's very late at night and I should probably be turning off the computer and head for bed.

Have you heard of the 20/20/20 rule? If you spend a lot of time staring at a computer monitor, you're supposed to stop every 20 minutes and stare at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds before looking back at your monitor. This helps preventing your eyes from getting tired and keeps your eyes healthy!

i try to stop once in a while and make sure i don't get my face too lose to the computer to avoid straining my eyes. whenever i'm planning to wash my face after i turned off the pc, i make sure i give them like a 15-minute rest just to make sure i won't do anything that could harm my eyes. we should love our eyes and we should do all those necessary actions just to protect our eyes. as a matter of fact, i sometimes wear sunglasses just to prevent too much radiation from directly touching my eyes.

It's not good to stare at the monitor for a long time. You need to take a break now and then and let your eyes rest. I don't really focus on the monitor. From time to time, I will get up and take a short walk. It helps me to feel relax too. Besides, it's not good to sit for a long time. Green trees or flowers can help too. You can place a few near you.

My computer table has been specially designed by my father. It is such that I can never be very close to the screen. And therefore, my eyes and hands never feel that tired. I can sit right through a couple of days without feeling tired. And I am 50. So it is a question of design. Of course, this table is ideal for my height. U all might have to get one suitably designed with the help of some ergonomics expert. :-)

when i feel my eyes get tired while using the computer, i close them for several minutes or i look outside my window to see the green grass and trees. Sometimes i put on eye care or lie on my back then take a nap for while. I also walk around for a while.
