Do you usually hold your pee for a long time?

I really can't hold mine in. I have an extremely overactive bladder, and there are days when I have to pee way too often (just ask my friend Brenda, on the drive from Toledo Ohio, to Guelph Ontario LOL) Pee, pee, peeeee!!!! I think we stopped at every service station from there on up. LOL

I've been taught that, babies have no control on their behaviors and pee whenever they want. But grown-ups should have the patience to wait for the appropriate moment and place, then shhhh... ^_^

I have a bad habit of holding my pee and my kids have told me for years that I shouldn't do it since they say when I get older I won't be able to. This is something that I didn't have a choice over, sometimes, when I taught school for 30 years and the bathroom was at the opposite end of the hall and it wasn't always possible to get to it when I needed to.

smooch91784 oh no dont ever do that as that leads to an ugly UTI urinary tract infection that will make you sick'as 'a dog until your doctor can prescribe the right antibiotic for you. never hold it, excuse yourself and get to the restroom. if you have to make an excuse say your doctor told'you never to wait when you need to go. don't be embarrassed as its your health you are taking care of.

Yes I have done that and paid the price. I used to bar tend and when it got busy, there was no way I could run to the bathroom, sometimes I would go 8 hours without using the bathroom. I had my bladder trained lol, BUT one night I started to have excruciating pain under my left ribcage and could not walk and hardly breathe. I ended up in the emergency room, and was told I had a urinary tract infection along with a kidney infection. The Reason? Holding my Pee, which builds up bacteria in the bladder,so you end up with a urinary tract infection which can lead to kidney infection. I try to always go to the bathroom as soon as possible now.

I try to hold it to a point, but when I really know I have to go, I better go or I will pee in my pant's.

I do it sometimes too especially when i am so busy with work or in a meeting. If i need to do this what i always do is pinch myself or hold on to the hand of whoever beside me until the feeling subside. There was one time i was standing in the line waiting for my turn in an atm machine. I suddenly feel i have to pee but i was already the 5th in the line and behind me are still about 10 people waiting for their turn also. Out of fear to leave the line i just stand there pinching my arms feeling very uneasy and waited until the last person in front of me finish his business with the atm machine. Luckily, i was able to hold it and did not embarass myself. Holding yourself to pee for quite awhile is really the most uncomfortable feeling.

Especially on along travel by bus,we have to hold our pee.I will be waiting for a good stop where I can urinate provided the bus will halt for few minutes.Until then it will be hell for me to control.Yes,it is not good to hold your pee as it will give stones in your kidney.But sometimes we have to.Cheers!

That is an interesting question. I don't hold it for a long time even though I can hold it for a long time. I think it is not healthy to hold it for a long time, it is better to release according to the natural feeling. I will hold it for a long time only when I am busy with work and don't want to get disturbed in the middle of that.

I do and I can. I praise myself for my good bladder control. Sometimes, I am too lazy to go to the bathroom so I hold my urine. I try not to anymore because it is very harmful to the bladder. But sometimes, when I am very sleepy and suddenly feels like wanting to pee but so lazy to get up from bed, I just hold it until morning. Surprisingly, I have never peed in my bed.

Absolutely not my friend. I always go to the restroom whenever there is a need or urgency to urinate or "pee". The danger in holding your pee for a longer period of time is that your bladder might develop irritations or bacterial buildup due to the by-product of your metabolism. There's a certain part of your brain which sends signals to your bladder to urinate at a certain volume of urine stored in your bladder. When that signal is somewhat changed or altered by holding your pee, it might send a wrong signal to your brain. The end result is altered nerve signal to your urinary bladder and somewhat complicates the situation.Hope this helps.

I actually hate holding my pee!it's very uncomfortable.but these are times that I should,especially in long drives.the very first thing I do when I get to my destination is find a comfort room.

I know how difficult it is to hold for a long time especially if you are on a long drive or in a social function, it is embarrassing also sometimes to ask where the wash room is located, you cannot laugh your heart out for a joke or concentrate on anything else other than this.

I used to be able to hold my pee for hours and hours before i had my son,then about 7 years ago i did,and i had to have a c-section and im tellin you what, i havent been able to hold ANYTHING since..i feel like the doc sliced my ability to hold my bladder,i dunno if theer are any organs where he cut me..from my belly buitton straight down to my" secret no no place "lol lol lol! but i havent been the same since..and it sucks bigg time..because i have like 20 seconds to get where i need to be or ihave an accident and im only 36 for crying out loud! This shouldnt be happening!! and another thing..i remember in school i was told that holding your bladder can harm you in someway..have u heard this? i just dotn remember everything i was told just that its not good..but like i said before i used to be able to hold it for hours my whole life,and nothing happened to me..until i gave birth..oh well..have a great day smooch!!! Oh yeah! really not a good feeling! Thing is, i got this UTI before during pregnancy and the doctor advices me to take a pee whenever i need to..to prevent it from coming back. Although there are really times that whre youre in a situation that u need to hold the pee. Sometimes tahts something we cant prevent from happening.

I am the type of person who doesn't like to go to the restroom in public places. I have that phobia. Well, when I am out in public and I have to go, I hold it. But when I am in a place such as my home or a family members home, I won't hold it. Its just normally in public places. And no its not healthy and my husband always gets mad at me when I want to hold it while we are in public places, but he's beginning to understand that I am not a person to go in public.

It depends. If sometimes I am busy at work, I try to stay longer in my seat before going to toilet. But when I am at home, I really need to go to toilet because I do not want to get sick. i dont hold me pee for long because it is not good for the bladder i know if frequently hold pee, bladder stones will form and its not good because probably need operation to take out the stones

yeah sometimes... Mostly when I'm in a long ride and even in the middle of enjoyment of playing online games... That's the reason why I got sicked before... Then when go to a Doctor i found that i had a UTI..
