hyderabad is a fast growing metropolis in southern india and one of the IT hubs in this part of the world. summers can get hot,but it is not humid unlike some of the beach cities in india. food tends to be on the spicier side, but you will get all kinds of cuisine, so it should not be a problem at all. you will get good continental food in plenty of places.

There are two Hyderabads' - one is in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, in South India and the other one is in Sindh, Pakistan.
Which one do you plan to visit?
The Chettinad cuisine of the Indian Hyderabad is quite famous, bu could be too hot and spicy for most western palettes and stomachs.
As far as the climate is concerned, it depends upon when you visit. It could be hot to rainy now. A couple of months down towards November December it will be cold to pleasant. Post March it is quite hot.

Hyderabad in India is not a desert. But it is humid and too hot. It is actually a valley surrounded by mountains so air is trapped. Their food is mostly sour to beat the heat, you might find it difficult to eat because it is is a bit excessively sour. This is about their normal household food. hyderabad is famous forit biryani which is rice with meat in a lot of spices. It is generally very rich and I do not recommend it on a daily basis. But you should taste it atleast once. take a lot of cotton garments, sun protection and all.
hope this helps.
Happy journey
