We are having a picnic and I am in need of some good ideas for both food and entertainment. We will be grilling the usual hamburgers, dogs and chicken as well a sausage and peppers but I need some new ideas for dips and snacky stuff, everything just seems used.
I also hate water balloon and egg tosses, they leave a mess of bits, But would like some ideas on other fun and possibly cooling games.
To top it off I need them to be economical, I have saved some cash for this but not a whole lot.

I´d make a big bowl of guacamole or/and mayo with crushed garlic as dips. You can make at home very thin toasts (buy a baguette sort of bread, cut it thin and bake it in a just warm oven). Then you put it in ziplocks so they won´t get soggy.
You can also serve those dips with raw marinated cawliflower, celery and carrot sticks.
Have fun!

Hi,
I love going on picnic and the most exciting part is cooking the parcels! Ok, i can help you with a few recipes that you can probably give a try for this picnic.
Have a look at this link -

There are lots of good and easy to make recipes listed here, right from ham salads to kabobs, chicken pasta etc.
Here is something I would personally suggest, as i tried it myself for our last weekend outing -
