There's more to this pickings but.... Well, all except the apple there. Hahaha! So; "Mary Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?" HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

That sure looks yummy!! Especially the corn. I got one ear of corn from my lone plant and how it got pollinated, I'll never know. But it was really good! I have lots of green beans and learned that next year I need more peas. And much more garden space! How does your wife make her vegetable soup?

I've lots of corn about ready to p[ick. I have maybe 50 plants total this year. So I and my family and neighbors will be eating a lot of sweet corn this year. She fries some stewing beef then makes a beef based broth then adds the meat and veggies to it and adds some various spices is all I know. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

"various spices" wow, that helps a bunch! My aunt used beef, vegetables, and a can of tomato juice. She also used bay leaf and sometimes added some tarragon. Best beef stew I ever tasted! Well, if you find out any specific ingredients I'd appreciate it. I have some beef in the freezer that I need to eat pretty soon.

Being in Minnesota I start a lot of my plants indoors in February or March then transplant mid May outside. Gardening is my stress reliever so I am out there daily. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I wish we had more land to make a bigger garden. I would plant all kinds of things too and try to can some of the stuff to have during the winter months. We planted tomatoes, green onions and leaf lettuce this year only. The leaf lettuce was good and so were the green onions. The tomatoes didn;t do well because of all of the rain.

Hot and dry here as well most summer and spring. Gardening entails a lot of watering under those conditions. I watered about every day most the season. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

You are really lucky! My garden turned out awful this year so I am relying on the Farmer's Markets to get my fresh produce this year. It's almost as good as if I had grown it myself.A little more expensive, but almost as good. I wish my garden would of turned out good this year. Last year it was great. I don't know what happened this year. We did have a LOT of rain so I am thinking that's why my garden didn't grow as good as it did last year.

We have really had a good crop of green beans and carrots. I have used them in many of my dishes and cooked them up for the evening meals as well. Hubby blanched some and froze them for later use too.

You know, I think you and your wife may live to be a hundred. You eat with so much organic qualities in your diet, and everything you talk about your wife making sounds good for anyone to eat. Do you count gardening as one of your greatest accomplishments? Because your produce always looks so awesome.

I have no gardening talent as you know. But that beef vegetable soup sounds delish! Hope you enjoy it.
