For me dog because they are not only adorable they are useful to.they can guard your house,
although there's also a disadvantage on having dog
1.Clean up
2.House training
3.jumping on people
4.barking at anytime
5.more money you need to spend
6.sometimes violent - "I hate it when dogs get violent they simply bite anyone."
7.eventually you will get attached and the loss will be hard when it happends
8.constant care and attention
But I still love dogs. :)

I have had cats and dogs as pets and I have to say that I prefer dogs. I know people who have had the most adorable and cuddly cats, but mine never were. The cats I had, with the exception of one, were all nuts! I had two that would bite and were very moody. One was nasty and would urinate on everything - clothes, tabletop, furniture - and would scratch and climb the curtains! Not nice. The dogs I have had have been for the most part good - one was a little wild, but right now I have three dogs and they are all for the most part good. They do protect the house and are friendly with strangers and my kids, which is important. So while I agree with the disadvantages of house training, jumping and barking, etc. - for me dogs are still a better bet!

Someone once told me that Dogs love you, and cats tolerate you.
In my experience, this is pretty accurate. There are exception of course but dogs make far better companions if you've got the time to care for them.

Give me a cat every time. If You are familiar with your cat they have such interesting personalities. Mine can really give you some dirty looks if she doesn't like what your doing. Cats don't really need a lot of attention. like dogs do. Cats don't jump up on any either like dogs do. No mater what we do we can't break Maggie from jumping on people or licking them, if not their hands she licks their clothes. As stated already cats don't need to be taken for walks or need some one to let them out to do their business if it's a house dog. You can leave a cat for a couple of days with plenty of food and water and they use the litter box. They don't tear things up either, though ours like to get attention by sharping her claws on furniture until you holler at her. She will entertain herself as well as us on her own. So give me a cat any time.

I think the dog will be more better as a dog can make cat away but cat cannot make the dog away. The other things about the dog is it can prevent from robbery and other emergency in the house.

I actually like both and i don't knnow which one i perfer, both species have treated me well but, if i have to decide it would have to be a cat. Cats to me are easier to take care of and they're so much fun. Although dogs are friendly as well and very protective of their owners, i've always loved cats, but as a kid, i've always had either a dog or a cat as a pet, i've had a german sheperd who was very protective of me as a baby in my crib, and i've had two cats and i loved this one particular black and white, big beautiful cat named tom who was an alley cat. We use to play games with each other and he would chase other cats, and he would come into my bedroom and sit right up against the window and look at the backyard, he even smiled and me when i was depressed and we started playing with each other; I remember one time i was watching an animal show on a vhs tape about monkeys, and they were making all this noise and my cat was sitting there watching with me, and when the monkeys started making loud screams, my cat ran out of the room, lol it was so funny. So i've always perferred to have a cat as a pet, i love cats.

Truth here is it depends on your lifestyle. For me, right now, I like cats. Why? Simple, I don't have to be home all the time! With cats, they use a litter box and if you leave some extra food and water out, you could theoretically leave them for a couple days and not be worried about them. Dogs, on the other hand, you have to be home to care for and walk. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE dogs! My mom has 3 and I live with her at the moment, as well as petsitting for other people when they are away. Whether you love cats or dogs, both can be valuable, lovable members of your family. Best of all, you can help save the life of one if you adopt from your local shelter or animal rescue group. Enjoy your pets! :)

I'm a dog lover through and through. I've always owned a dog sometimes two dogs. Dogs are great companions, they give you unconditional love no matter what happens. All they want in return is for someone to feed them, care for them, provide a good home and love them. Cats can be so snooty. They don't need you like a dog does, they are very independent creatures, which some people might find appealing I don't. Dogs generally want to be with you, cats only want to be with you when they want something.

I prefer dogs over cats. Cats our useless and you constantly have to clean the litter box so your house don't stink up. I have a friend with 9 cats all of his cats our older and know how to use the litter box for some reason his cats still stink up his house. It smells like pee and there's hair everywhere. That's crazy I don't see how people will let there animals destroy there houses. Anyways the only thing I don't like about dogs is when you're eating and they beg. Although I think it's just normal for a dog to do this. Dogs rule cats drool!!

Depends on ones lifestyle. A cat can be left alone for 4 days. A dog cannot.
I have both, love both. They are different and for different reasons I adore both creatures.

I don't like pets at my place but I am kind of inclined towards dogs than cats. If the pets are of our neighbours I will surely like them to come to our place and play with us. But taking care of them is not in my blood. They also litter everywhere which is a headache to everyone.

For me I would prefer cats over dogs. The main reason is cats are more hardy than dogs. They don't need much attention unlike dogs you have to watch over them in terms of feeding. Cats are born-hunters, if you let them wander in your own backyard, it will hunt for food like insects or birds or lizards. Dogs are more demanding to their owners. Cats are more playful than dogs although sometimes it is moody. Dogs are more loyal to their master. Cats are less likely to stay longer in your house especially male one.
