Email Etiquette

It has come to my attention recently that I have certain standards in what I expect from people online. I spend a lot of time on the internet and use it to talk to most people I need to keep in contact with. But as in every day life, there are things that people do that I just think are so rude, but they don't seem to realise.
I have been brought up with good manners so bad manners and etiquette is always something I tend to notice.
What are some things that you feel shouldn't need to be said when emailing someone?
Firstly, I cannot stand it when people don't reply and they have no reason not to, other than they don't want to. It would be like speaking to someone in real life and then having them walk off and ignore you, other than people think because it is over the internet it is different. I feel it is ok if a conversation has come to a close but other than that I find it very rude. This also goes for taking ages to reply without a reason. It would be a bit like if I was talking to someone then I said actually, before I reply, I would like to go out to dinner and a movie with someone else.
I also dislike it when you need an answer to something and they reply but ignore what you have asked them. In particular when it is customer services!
I don't like it when abbreviations and "online speak" are used as I don't understand them (and I am sure I am not the only one!). I feel if you are going to be writing to someone you don't know particuarly well, it would be nice to write in English and find out whether they understood the other abbreviations and things first instead of just assuming they know what you mean!

Hi pinklemonade, i don't think i am of much help here.... coz i have the same problem as you here, it is certainly strange at times to contact someone over the internet at times coz you don't get in the feed backs, if they don't reply then it sure seems like they are ignoring you...

well i find it rather boring to have to type in such formats every time. i mean mails are not just any formal letters always. they are most of the time very much for communication and so they can be informal too. i always send mails with a very casual look and feel to it so that the reader gets to know about my mood. and yes the work mails are a bit different. we follow some formating for that but then also its not so formal in nature.
