I have four to cook for and it can be quite challenging. Mostly I can't make up my mind what I want to eat. My 3 year old is a little picky but my husband and 6 year old will eat anything. I have tried planning out the week ahead of time and that has made it easier.

Hi jugsjugs, I know what you mean. Everyday I have to ask my children what they like to eat. If I just cook whatever I like, no one will eat what I cook. Sometimes when I cook a lot no one will eat and another time when I cook just a tiny amount, it's not enough to go around. I hate to waste food and I have to go through this every day. And my husband and I love spicy food but my children can't stand spicy food. So you can imagine my frustration.

Sometimes i have this problem where i just cannot decide what to cook for my family because i fancy something, but i dont know what it is. Also it makes it harder because i am not just cooking for myself so i have to take into account what everyone else likes too.

I have this problem a lot. I also do not like cooking in the summer time because it's tooooooo hot!! This also makes decisions on what to cook more difficult. I want to find a meal that isn't going to heat up the apartment.

When I am cooking for myself I usually have a single thing I eat over the whole week, like jacket potatoes or pasta, so I can usually avoid the feeling of being lost for inspiration. That said if ever I run out of those usual food items then I tend to get completely stuck and it takes me ages until I find something that is asking to be eaten lol!
When it comes to cooking for the family there is really only one thing I cook - chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn tagliatelle - and since I usually only cook once every two weeks, and it is a tried, tested and loved meal, I am usually fine. It is my poor father who has to worry about the communal meals since I don't usually provide much inspiration for any one else lol!

No, I just cook what I decide I want for that night. It is just me and my husband he always eat what I cook unless he has eaten a late lunch. But that means I then have dinner for the next day.

Hi there, Yeah, sometimes, it give me a problem when come to the dinner time. As you know, I have 2 kids here. Cooking is a task for me, I always need to see what food is suitable for the kids and so to the hubs. I seldom think of myself. My kids and the hubs come first . I normally cook a soup everyday and 1 dish for the kids and 1 more dish for my hubs and myself.

I plan weekly menu's over the weekend. Once in awhile I have no idea what to make. My son is picky. He at least tries what I make. I usually have a back up for him like macaroni and cheese.
