I don't really celebrate my birthday. I've grown up not giving importance on that special day unlike my friends. But then I had read an article that explained how important it is to give something for yourself, not just on your birthday but every time you achieve something or done something that's good.
So do you give your self some present on your birthday? what do you usually give?
Thanks a lot...

I don't give myself presents for birthdays but it's a nice idea to reward yourself for having made it another year. It could be a great tradition to send yourself flowers every birthday or maybe every piece of a crystal collection. Maybe we should try it

Well, why not? It's a good thing, especially if you love flowers. That will help you brighten each year that has come into your life. Oh, you must learn to give something for yourself, even if it's not your birthday. It will makes you feel good and boost your time and effort.

I always reward myself during birthday or any other ocassion like getting a promotion or such. I see that as a sign of self appreciation. Usually I will buy a new handbag, clothes or just treat myself at any restaurant I've craving to dine in. It's my special day so I don't mind the price. I don't celebrate often so it's special.

Hi there, well i dont really celebrate my birthday its also an ordinary day for me. Eversince i was a kid i dont give special meaning with my birthday i mean i dont think that i need this one or i have to prepare for my birthday, nothing really special. The truth is that i am sad when my birthday is coming because i feel that i am getting old . Anyway, im just happy because during my last birthday my hubby sent me a birthday present that he ordered from the internet he was working abroad so we are not together, this is a sweet action from him. Anyway, i believe that we should give present to ourself anytime I mean specially when we are working, its right to give reward to ourself after our work done. This will make us to work more harder thats my opinion, anyway i hope i can make sense here, keep on mylotting

Your really make a great sense here kmaram, don't worry. Actually most of friends really get bother on their age, and I often told them that they're lucky to reach that year, 'cause lots of people who want to live longer but don't have a chance. So most of them don't want to be ask about their age on their birthday.
Lucky that you have a thoughtful hubby. Anyways, I've got your point, yeah, we all need to give our self a break or give something for we deserve it after a long days of hard work.
Have a great day!

I don't really give myself an official birthday present, but sometimes I'll make an extravagant purchase or go a litlte overboard when shopping, and use the excuse of "Well, it IS my birthday" to justify it. I guess that's probably the same thing. lol.

I actually do the same thing like yours. Every time I reach my goal, I did go on shopping and buy all the best thing that caught my attention. But still I give limits, 'cause in the end it's only me who take charge of it.
Have a great day!

Yeah, it feels good receiving gifts from other people. Even it's not really the one that you fancy. It's the thoughts that really counts. I do have some friends who often give me gifts on my birthday, but I don't really expect.
Oh, when is your birthday? Anyways, advance Happy Birthday! In case I missed it.
Enjoy your day!

I don't celebrate my birthday anymore. It reminds me that as I get older, so does everybody else. When I did celebrate, I never bought myself a gift. My dad used to take us for shopping sprees. He would give a limit to spend. So I would buy what I wanted. Is that the same as buying myself a gift?

Well, it's more likely the same thing as buying yourself a gift. What makes it real good is there's someone who made it possible to have something for you.. You're lucky to have a generous dad.

Aside from a simple dinner with my family, I buy myself something. Like on my last birthday I bought myself a laptop that I have been saving on for months.
