Would you change your past if you could? Or go back?

I've often thought about this. Sometimes I say yes. Others I say no. My past helped shape me into what I am now. If I were to change my past, would that change who I am now? What if I didn't like the person I'd become? I can say I learned from my mistakes. I admit, I made a lot of them. If you could go back, would you? My answer is no. If I were able to and wanted to, I would want to go back with what I know now. I was pretty naiive in school. Which lead me to some of those mistakes. What are your thoughts?

If I had my choice now..I would say no. Not really. I don't really care that much. I don't really REGRET anything, per say, but I've made a few bad mistakes that have cost me. But everything happesn for a reason, and that's my belief - and I think we all definitely learn & grow from our mistakes. So, no, I probably wouldn't go back and change anything in particular.

Yes if I could change some things in my past I would, I was blessed really young and did not appreciate what I had, so I made stupid choices that took me back instead of forward, I always think about this, if only I did that things would be different,I am the same person now that I was then, so my personality was always the same, but other things have changed and I should have done one or two things different. What a great question this is, life is funny and when we are young we make choices not knowing how things will turn out, if I had to make those choices now I would make the right choice, I still feel blessed I am a good woman, and life is pretty good to me, I learned a lot from my past met some great people along the way, we grow up go our separate ways but the life lessons stay with us, so I don't have many things to change, just 1 or 2 guess thats not so bad. great post thank you.

I would love to go back, because I would change alot of things. For one, I would've gone to college,in my days it wasn't necessary to go, but I regret it now; secondly, I would've never gotten married, so I could've done just about anything in my life as a single person. But since I can't go back, I have to move on, and live each day to the fullest, so I don't regret everything.

Hi there.. According to your topics, i just wonder if i could change the past. Like you said that The past helped shape us into what we are now. But if...just if..i would like change my past if i could and hope i can have the better life and many more. But the fact those all are the dream and the present must go on better without the past we had. Happy mylotting!

I cannot tell a lie. Yes, I would change my past if I could. There are many things that I would change because I am almost sure that my life and my children's (grown now)lives would be better. First thing that I would change would be to get a college education and a great job afterward before having children. It was very difficult trying to go to college and raise two young children. Second thing I would change is not be in a great rush to be divorced from my ex-husband. I always wanted to be one of the family members that stayed married. I was broken when that didn't happen. Third and final (here anyway)thing that I would change is my choice to relocation to another state and leave my family. Even though everyone is fine, I miss them terribly and don't see them but twice a year. I am sure if I continue to live, I will have other regrets that I would want to undo.

I think we'd all like to fix the mistakes we've made in our past as long as they don't affect the good things we currently have such as family and friends. personally I would have went to med school instead of getting my degree in finance and economics.

ummmmm.... i am not really sure. of course there are those things that i so wish i didn't do. those things that even when you think about it 20 years later, you still say, what the heck was i thinking!!! then there are things that happen that are just so amazing if i change the bad, then that good thing would not be... so i am not really sure

Well for one thing i'd probably still be back in my old home state if i went back in time, i would definitely be married to one girl or another. I would never had quit my job at the country club, I would have turned down certain girls when their friends asked if they would go with me, i would have met this television star that i'm not going to say who it is, but i would have met her and talked with her because she liked me, she was a famous celebrities in the 90's. I wouldn't have been skinny in the 80's and 90's, and i wouldn't have lost my temper when people were treating me horribly, I'd probably be rich now from buying stocks in the stock market and saving money from different jobs as well. But most of all out of all of that, i would have been married to a very pretty girl, the question is, which one, lol.

I think on one hand, I'd say yes, but on the other, I'd say no. My past is what made me the way I am today. Although, I think I would kick myself for getting myself into the money crunch we're currently in. I think I'd go back a few years ago, and talk me and my husband out of getting all those credit cards.

Hello, I think I would change High school as well . I wouldnt change as a person, but I would hope to be stronger and know that I deserve better from people. Would not of made my weight the issue and I would of seen that people can like you for you. I would of been more carefree and happy. Then, I would of changed some of the times I had with my gram . We were close always, but in the end I kinda shyed away for dumb reason, but we made peace. Also, I would of got this weight off and maybe just finished my degree. I hate all the what IF'S Life throws at you. That is why I live for the moments now and love the spur of the moment . I listne to my heart and know there is more out there and Im an ok chica

If given the chance to go back to the past, I would.. Not that I don't like what I have become but I'm currently not something that I have thought I would become. And no matter how hard I try to change to have a better future, it seems fate has decided how things should go for me. I would like to go back to the time when I have plans of finding a good job related to my course. Maybe if I was strong enough to pursue my own plans and not follow what my parents wanted me to do, I would be having a stable job today.

Well a fairy tale question sure, past is past and future is future and of course present is present. With the change if others can benefit the I would go for a slight change, its not for my transformation because I don't wanna change myself from such long teaching years of my lifetime.

For me it depends on the person's situation. Let say, a person who made a lot of mistakes all his life and never learned from it, doing it continuously, making it a habit, won't probably go back or change his past, because he might have the thinking that there is nothing to change anymore. He knows that it's wrong but he care less already. A person who made mistakes and learned from it might say no as well because the mistakes were the reason why he became stronger and mature. He won't be able to know his limitations and weakness if not for the mistakes and would consider it a blessing in disguise. There is also this person who want to change his past because he believes that he can do better if he didn't make mistakes. I would go for the second example just so you know...happy mylotting.

I wouldn't change my past cause everything happened for a reason. I have things i wish i wouldn't have done , but god puts these things as a test to see if you can get through.

It is better not to think of the past and just let it go. It's wrong to think that if you went back things would be different. You will never know that. Of course you learned from your mistakes. Whatever happened in the past, it happened for a reason. The same thing exists in the present. Everything has a reason. Whatever makes you think that in the past you should do something else, be someone else, do something otherwise, maybe you should take it into consideration and if you really regret something and if it's possible to happen now, in the present then DO IT. Do it now. Maybe it will work. Maybe not. Put the past in the past, leave the present, and do not plan the future. Leave each moment like it's the last one. Life is short to think of the past, think..what if..or regret of your mistakes. We should try not to make the same mistakes, if we feel that the person we became is not as good as we wanted to be then change our selves. It's never too late. Maybe the past shaped our character, but the present can do miracles. Think of now, think positive.

I don't want to change my past. I have made mistakes, I have been through failures and things that didn't turn out the way I expected and I have missed out on some of the chances that I was given. When I look back on my life now, I think that some of the decisions that I made in the past were very naive. I understand why some of the things went wrong, because I definatelty bit off more than I could chew. I don't want to change those decisions though. I think that I have learend something from all the things that have happened in my life, and I would probably be a different person today if I had done "all the right things".

No people is perfection, I like myself now. if I could go back,I would not change the history, I do the same things as I ever did. experience of my past is treasure of priceless, it make me to value the things belong to me now.

Well,If I've given a chance to changed my past. I would likely want to go back. Because, If I have to change it, it's always be the same thing. There were still a lots of questions. I want just to stay the same, because there's a lot of things that I have learned and things that I can change the way I want it. It's hard to begin than to end. In life there's a lot of things that we can appreciate if we really want to. A lot of things has been given to us. It's all up to us to find and see these things in our life. We always have a choice.

if i go back to my past and amend everything, my life will be too perfect and that is against the rule of nature in your lifetime, it is impossible that the road is smooth, surely there will be obstacles and wrong moves in life
