Muslim Model to be CANED after being caught DRINKING A BEER!

This story i just read just made me cry my eyes out,I feel so bad for her and i think this is the most stupidest law i have ever heard of..i know that other countries are way different than my own and that im lucky to live in the USA,where women have equal rights.But this..just pi$$es me off on soo many levels!! here is the story.,. Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32, was sentenced to six lashes by an Islamic court after she was caught with alcohol in a raid on a hotel nightclub in eastern Pahang state last year. The married mother of two will be caned next week following her decision not to appeal her sentence. Prosecutor Saiful Idham Sahimi said: 'It is a good punishment because under Islamic law a person who drinks commits a serious offence.'He added that a rattan cane 'lighter than the one for men' would be used, and that its purpose was to 'educate' rather than punish. Muslims, who make up two-thirds of Malaysia's 28million population, are governed by sharia law. Kartika said earlier that she wanted authorities to cane her as soon as possible so she can resume her life with her husband and children. So here is my beef it says they may be fined,so what because it was a woman they decided to cane her? And its to educate!!! BULLSH*T!!! it is to punish! I would love to cane whoevers idea it was to make this stupid,ignorant law!! So what are your views on this?
