How bad is your temper???

I admit it, I have a temper. I learned many years ago to keep it under control, but I have had it rising this week. It's about to blow!!! Everyone better duck!!!! I got home from class at 9:45 p.m. and remembered a pork chop that one of my favorite neighbors gave me. (He has been helping me out a LOT with food. This time it was four thick pork chops that he had barbequed...he claimed that they were dried out, but they were wonderful!!! He can cook for me anytime.) I was chewing on the cold chop when my friends dog that I am taking care of started begging. I blew! She got pelted with pieces of pork chop. The dog came to me to take care of totally untrained. She would climb on the bed and expected to sleep with me (that didn't last one night), she decided that she owned the couch and we could sit on the floor--that took a couple of days to get that out of her head. But the begging is the worst! I always trained my dogs not to beg, but this excuse for a dog sits in front of you and drools copiously! Tonight, with everything else, was the last straw. Pork chop pieces went flying. She is laying on her bed trying to look small (which is hard as she is a pit/lab mix that weighs about 75 pounds).
I finally gave in an poured myself a glass of wine and am working at calming down...We all have tempers, how bad is your's? When is the last time you lost it?? What caused you to lose it????

TEMPER a man or a woman must have a grip in their hands.If our anger starts controlling us then we won't be living peacefully at all.Social community needs peace,understanding and patience after all its we who star our life's for our loved ones.One's the temper crosses our limit,it ruins ourselves,getting hold of other things would even make us throw them towards others in a fraction of second,then we think of it as a unwanted deed.

I have a very bad temper allright, But the intensity of the temper is directly proportional to the time taken for me to get angry for some reason or somebody. I do not get angry for the slightest reason. But when I do get angry, it takes a hell lot of time to plunge it down. I do not break things, but I turn restless and my heart rate shoots up.
But things can turn diffrently with someone whom I dislike...Like there is this girl who lives next door who always comes knocking for some favour. She doesnt visit at all just to say hi. But yesterday I lost all control when she came asking for chillies. I directly shot at her that she comes only when she needs something from me...

Your anger is justified at the neighbor! Mine right now is building because of a friend who is taking advantage of me. She is constantly borrowing money from me. It varies, and this month it has hit nearly $100 (U.S. Dollars). It has cut me so short that it is really unbelievable. I am about to tell her which way is up, but I want to get my anger under control before I do.
You are in the same position, your neighbor is using you for what she needs...not that she wants to be a friend or a good neighbor, you're just a convenience. Good for you losing all control when she wanted some chillies.

I have learned this poem in school on three close friends, wher one of them borrows constantly from the other and is in noo mood to reply. And the author as third person gives some ideas on how to get it back from her. One way is to stand frim on not giving any thing unless you get waht you already paid or atleast as some solid assurance which u can encash when necessary. These people are nothing but parasites. Better start learning to deal with them or else it will only distroy u...Better still try some trick on him/her saying you need that money urgently for some immediate medical need or something...you will gett o see tthe actual colour of your friend.
This person who claims to be your friend is no true friend, he/she is just utilising you in the name of friendship.

Thank you so much! I actually smiled for the first time in over a week. My friend called last night to tell me that she got $70 (USD) from my jewelry--then went on to say that her husband worked for one of his people that has him garden for them, and they WENT OUT TO EAT!!!! I nearly went into a frothing fit! She also told me that she would get some of my jewelry out of pawn the beginning of the month. I already told her that I would pay for all of it as if she gets ANY out I'll end up having to give her that money as a loan.
I can't loan her money any more. I am making myself sick from the depression and denying myself what I need. I worry because some of the money I loan is to pay my bills. I really kicked myself when I realized that I have paid for her student fees, loaned her money for food and fuel, and then the jewelry she pawned. It came to $150!!! That is over 15% of my total income for the month. OUCH! As you said it so perfectly, I simply need to tell her it is for medical expenses. Depression and worry count as a medical problem. Thank you!!!

begging dogs get put outside, begging cats (except Star) get ignored - and they know it so they beg from the roommate who will drop them treats
why does Star get special treatment? because she's our most feral and she's so pretty that its a chance to get close to her - even take the food from my fingers!

The dog is now behaving herself and not begging...I guess losing my temper and throwing pork chop pieces at her and calling her everything but a dog. She now lays down in the corner when I eat. She doesn't come near me when I'm eating until I call her. So I guess my losing my temper did help this time.
I know about special treatment for the feral cats. Mine get special treatment too, simply because I have managed to tame them to the point that I can pet them. My black one is a real lover boy now. He'd been wild for 15 years, but when he came to me with an infection in his face I started with special food and milk. Soon I was able to pet him and now he runs to greet me and rubs up against my legs every time I go out the door. He sleeps on top of my car so he can see inside the house and make sure I'm okay. Only problem is that the car is white, he's black and he sneezes a LOT so I have to wash the car once a week to get the cat snot off it.

I get upset from time to time. I'm grumpy in the morning so I lose my temper easily whenever someone says something. Also something I can't stand is being framed. My grandmother would always yell first and ask questions later. Even though I try hard to, I can't help but yell back at her for yelling at me for something I didn't do. I try not to lose my temper but it's so hard. Sometimes I stuff my face into a pillow and scream to blow off some steam. Helps a little

HI LOVERBEAR: LOL! oh you and I are sooooo much alike;
I take after my Father in the temper, have a fit, yelling like a maniac crazy person LOL!
Sad but true;
When I flip a nut, I FLIP A FRIGGIN NUT BIG TIME!!!
When I was still working before I went on disability I was labeled at old Walmart, that I
was such a SUPER-B!TCH!!! ROTFL! I was quite proud of that title too...LOL!
I still am a loud mouthed, foul worded piece of work;
I blame a lot of my "attitude" on the fact that I am in pain 24/7, my life is one big
piece of sh!t and so on and so on...
Tell your neighbor he can cook for me too anytime...LOL!! I see you are in the same
boat as myself, money is so tight, well there is none except for what "little" my
Father helps me out with, that $20.00 didn't go far the other day but I was grateful
to get it;
here in my stupid stupid stupid stupid town, they give out the commodities ( food bank)
place the last 1-3 days of the month and it depends on how many people come as to how
many days or DAY it lasts you know?
I had to go last month and it just "killed me " to do it too...and you know what?
99.9% of the stuff they pass out here is just JUNK, CRAP...RIDICULOUS!! The whole
time I am in line and waiting and waiting the LINE WAS LONG and I was there EARLY...
but as I get the stuff I was just "surprised" "shocked" at what they pass out but I guess I should SHUT UP...BE GRATEFUL and just deal with the stuff and here I am once
again waiting for the last week of the month to come so I can once again stand in line
and see what is in store for me ...???
take care dear friend, sometimes we all just have TO BLOW OUR GASKETS....LOL!!!
((take care))

real bad?
I can blow off at any time and generally at anyone, although as much as I can I try to control it and sometimes it works for me, sometimes it gets the better of me.
There are so many reasons why I lose my temper, but more so when someone tries to do my job for me and meddle, that really gets my ire.
I have two kids a 7 year old and a 4 year old, well when they start with their rowdiness and naughtiness that's what gets me too.
Sometimes when i try to get my idea across and no one seems to understand then I just walk out.
Well, I try to control my temper sometimes to no avail but God knows that I really do have nasty intentions sometimes everything just gets the better of me and I blow up

It's not the dog's fault, it's the owner's (don't throw a pork chop at me)...
Generally it takes a lot to get me mad. But when you do, watch out! The last time I really lost it? Probably when my husband accused me for the umptieth time of not apologizing for something that I HAD apologized for, and more than once! Maybe I didn't do it in the fashion he was expecting (ie with tears and whatever) but don't tell me I didn't do something that I did do!!!

Your story is funny, it reminds me of myself. I am the same way...normally very even tempered, but when I get mad...you better run! When I blow up, it's almost never because of one big thing that went wrong. It's the combination of a milllion tiny things that have went wrong throughout the course of the day. I can feel it start to build. It's like a time bomb ticking. I get madder and madder and finally I don't know how to deal with any more things going wrong and I just explode on whoever or whatever is closest, which is what it seems you did by exploding on the dog for begging. Everyone in my house runs for cover when I get mad. They have lived with me long enough that they know not to get in my way. I do manage to stay calm in front of my son. He's just a baby and is very sensitive to the was other people act. I get mad around him, but when I talk to him I am very careful to use a nice, calm tone of voice.

Hi Loverbear. Back in high school, I was featured in our school paper. I would have been so proud and happy had the caption under my photograph not said "This freshman is normally cool-tempered but when she blows her top, duck for cover." I have learned control through the years but sometimes, it pops out like crazy.

Few years back, when I was still in elementary, my temper was really bad. Even a little mistake by a friend or a relative; a button that would not go through right away from the hole; or any little things that I could not make, I would be very angry and end up crying because of anger.
But now, reaching in my 20's, I learned to manage my anger and not let my anger manage me. I do not get angry right away or if I am almost angry, I always make sure that I could control it because by any chance that I would be angry, I am like a cannon.

hi loverbear!
i don't have a problem as it relates to my temper. i am so slow to anger and my patience is really overflowing but... just don't push me to the limit and it will really blow me to the point of throwing whatever stuff i can have or hold. but this only happened 2x in my entire life.

My temper is so bad that I consider it as my main problem and I am afraid of myself. I just loose control and become a totally different person. When I spark I feel much stronger and invincible. In that rare moments I don't feel pain not even if I am seriously hurt. It is not nice and it is a serious problem.

Boy oh boy i know about temper especially in the past, my temper is farily calm now except when i get made at my video game, or when a telemarker calls and doesn't answer when i say hello. I use to get very angry and throw things around when people were lying about me and trying to get me mad, people use to enjoy trying to get me angry. I use to have a violent temper, but without medication and when people stopped treating me nasty i calmed down, but now i can control my temper although i get angry but after getting angry i always laugh. I only get angry when something goes wrong or when the phone rings as soon as i go to the bathroom, but other than that, i don't really have a temper, i'm a calm and pleasent person to be around with, as far as anger goes, i've learned self control, but one thing i've never done and will never do when i get angry, is hurt any one. I don't like to hurt anyone and have never been in a fight my entire life, I know how to control my anger now, and even if people started treated me nasty again, I would still remain calm because, i don't want to raise my blood sugar or blood pressure again.

If the phone is not working I will throw it somewhere without even looking if the USB cable is well plugged, I will be very impertinent sometimes like I can shout at someone who is not at fault,I can swear at that person too. Then I followed meditation which taught me to have a self control over bad temper, today I am happy to be able to control atleast some % of my temper.

Yes I do also have a very bad temper, I lose my temper when things do not get done in the way I want it to be done. The last time I lost my temper was when my husband did something which I had specifically asked him not to do two days back. My children also drive me crazy sometimes and I keep shouting at them. They seem to be least bothered at times so I cool down.
