Oftentimes I travel alone. I like to be alone because I don't have to worry about my companion, especially if he/she get sick. So I can enjoy roaming around just having me. But there are some places where I like to have a companion. Someone whom I could share the beauty of the place. Or when I am not in the mood to be alone. How about you, Do you enjoy traveling having company or like being alone?

I hate travelling alone. It is the most boring thing. Though I have to do so in some cases. Especially when i need to wait 4-5hours for the connecting flight to reach somewhere, it makes it worse. i long for company then. It is always fun to travel in company of some friends or relatives. FOr pleasure travel, company is a must for me.

Yeah, it's really boring when you have to wait a couple of hours. But when I'm in that situation I'd often make friends, or read about the place that I'm going to or make myself prepared for everything that's possible to happened. Yeah, it's always fun to travel with family.

That is true, if you make friends with copassengers it will kill time. but I have this paranoia about talking to strangers. I have this strange thing of fear that they are going to feed me something and desert me at some unknown place. I am very bad at judging people so I get cheated very soon. I go to the loo only when I ask some security out there is willing to see my luggage till I come back....

Traveling alone can get pretty dull. It is extremely tedious waiting 3 hours on a airplane with a laptop and some food with no one to talk to. I always need friends by my side, or my family sitting next to me. There are some advantages to traveling alone. You can do whatever you want without no one commenting or criticizing you. You can buy and eat whatever you want when your family isn't there to nag you to save money. haha. You can choose your own airplane flight time and to be independent. But the disadvantage is just being lonely. You have no companion to talk to, to chill or hang out with. It's just plain boring. I prefer traveling with friends or family. I hate being bored and somehow, I constanly need to be somewhat entertained or need to do something. It's really a bad thing for me to do absolutely nothing with no friends. Yes, I have my Dell Laptop (= but I need friends in my life when I travel no matter what mood I'm in.

Yeah, It's how you get used to it. When I was a teenage I often travel with my friends or family. I can't travel without them. So the first time that I travel alone. I'd felt really bored and scared sometimes. And I promised myself never to travel alone. But then there's a lot of instances that I have to do it on my own. So 'til then I get used to travel alone. I'd learned to find ways to entertained myself and so I didn't have any problem being my own. Have a great day!

Traveling with your imagination is a great thing as well. I often do that when I was kid, and even nowadays when my mind is free, though it's rarely happened. Have a great day!

I enjoy traveling alone because then I can go at my own speed. When I travel with my husband, he's always mapping out what we're going to do and he's always 20 feet ahead of me. When I take the train down to see my family I'm not rushed. I can take the time to talk to strangers on the train and I really enjoy that. It's also nice for me to be on my own.

Same here, it's fun having new friends, meeting people not on the usual way. It's great talking to strangers, like when I'm waiting for a bus, train or air plane. Being on your own is definitely a great experience,'cause you'll discover many things about yourself.

Yeah, it's really different to travel alone if you're having a family of your own, especially with kids. It's much enjoyable if you travel with your kids. Well so far I'm still single so sometimes when I travel in not so far places I bring along my niece or nephew. It's fun to help them explore and teach them few things while traveling. Have a great day!

Same with you, it depends on my mood. Sometimes when I feel sad, I prefer to traveling alone because I can reflect everything and not make my partner feels sad too.. Yes, I must admit that when traveling alone I feel free, stop at any places, buy anything, etc.. But sometimes I feel lonely,,hehehe.. I need someone to talk to, ask advice or share joke on the way.. and I easily forget the road, it's important for me to have companion when traveling to far place

Yeah, There's really a big difference if you have someone to talk to, share experience and everything that cares you a lot. And if you're get used to having companion when you travel, it's really hard to be alone. Oftentimes you will missed the beauty of the place, because your mind and heart isn't there but to the one thing that's missing. Have a great day!

When I was younger I often used to go traveling on my own. I found that I could choose where to go and for how long I would spend in each place. It was easier to meet the local people, being alone they were quite friendly. I found that I met other travelers from many different countries. Now I travel with my toddler son. He is just two years old. I have taken him to Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and South Africa.

Yeah, that's the advantages of traveling alone. You can choose the time to go, stay the place for how many hours you like and do everything you want to do without someone whom you'd have to consider. And it's really great to meet travelers from different countries 'cause you'll learn a lot from them.

I've never traveled alone but I think it could be a great experience. Traveling alone, you can decide everything and be carefree and just explore. Sometimes it's also nice to have someone to travel with but I hate it when people think it is necessary to have someone to go on vacation with. When I went on a tour with my mother and she thought it was sad there was a woman traveling alone. We don't always need to be with people. Sometimes we just need to enjoy life by ourselves

Yeah, I definitely agree with you animegirl. We need to enjoy doing things as like traveling alone. We need to enjoy life by ourselves. It's too bad if you often rely your happiness on other people. Happiness is a choice not a chance. When you travel alone you can have all your own time and everything is yours. Sometimes I travel alone because I'm sick with the people that surround me or my job, or I want something new, and rediscover myself.

I don't like to travel alone. I want to travel with a companion as alone is not so interesting, no one to talk with and even no one helps to take photo for you. But now, I don't need to worry about it as my huaband always travel with me.

Traveling with your partner is good. Usually when I travel alone I often take pictures of the place, people and everything that's on it. It's not really hard to ask stranger a favor to take a few pictures of myself.

I have never travelled alone but I am planning a trip at the moment where I will be travelling from London to somewhere in America alone. I enjoy being around others so we can share memories together and have good bonding experiences. But I feel it is important to be independant as well, that is why I am taking this trip. I get very lonely when I am by myself but I think it is something we all have to get used to as it will happen at various points in our life.

Hello pinklemonade, It's good that you plan to travel alone. You'll surely meet a lot of nice people. I promise you, it's gonna be a real great experience for you. The good thing of traveling alone is you'll learned to use and trust your instinct, 'cause you're dealing with strangers and you'll be more independent. There will come a time in our life that we have to do things alone, so as traveling.

I love travelling with a company and not alone. But once in a while travelling alone also is fun. But generally when you travel alone you get bored after sometime. All you can do is to listen to music or read books. But with a companion you are more occupied discussing all the topics under the sun. Happy myloting.

It's not inevitable to get bored either you travel alone or with company, It's really good to travel having a company whom shares the same interest as yours. And who often travel a lot. Have a great day!

I want to travel with a companion, there's always a good feeling when you share the moment with someone or with a group. But if ever you are alone, there are lots of things you can do. Bring your entertaintment with you, something to read, appreciate the new things you will see, bring your camera to capture beautiful places. You may be alone but not lonely.

I ALWAYS prefer to travel alone. The whole point of a vacation or traveling is to immerse yourself in another culture, language, food, etc and the more familiar things you have around you the harder it is to get really into it. But, like anything in life there are pros and cons. The pros include going where you want, when you want, eating what you want and basically being spontaneous and not having to consult with others to "plan" the day. You can really give in to whatever your specific interest are, whether it be the food scene, museums, or lounging on the beach. I am a reader as well as a people watcher so I can not imagine being bored in an airport or train station -I either have my head stuck in a great novel, or I am imagining the lives of all the strangers passing by around me. I also always take a blank journal with me when I travel and love to scribble down impressions of everything around me. There are cons though and most of them are logistic in my opinion. If you have been shopping and have several bags, and stop at a cafe and then need the bathroom, you have to lug everything with you because there is nobody to help you watch it. Also, it can be a little scary if you get lost, but there is freedom in this too. I find when I travel that I do so much sightseeing and get so much more exercise than usual that at night when I hit the hotel bed I am so tired that I fall asleep within seconds anyway. I am all in favor of traveling solo - it gives you a broader vacation experience and also gives you a vacation from your normal life and the people in it, which is a necessary mind-clearing experience every once in a while. Don't be lonely or scared - as Nike says "Just Do It."

I am a person who is not very fond of travelling. But, if I get a chance I would like to travel alone with a group. I mean I don't want to take the risk of finding my own hotel and vehicle to see places. I want to be in a bus as a group travel, but with strangers. I will be in my own dreams, taking pictures, sight seeing, and shopping. I might decide on this because of my bad experiences from a group trip.
